I stopped dancing and got fat! |
|
While my hubby and I were split up I was at the club every weekend. I love to dance. I used to even used to crank up the tunes to do my house work. Now we are back together and he does NOT dance. I tried to teach him and he broke 2 of my toes.Plus he is a real homebody, can't stand crowds, and is totally convinced that married women going out to the clubs with out their man is just asking for trouble. I try to dance while I clean but since we moved to a subdivision the cops get called or one of the other 6 people living here starts to complain. So I haven't had a real chance to dance in 5 years and have put on about 80 lbs. I diet, and do the normal exercise 3 times a week (boring!!!) but have lost very little. For some reason I can only lose weight on the dance floor. I may need to tell a few people to kiss off and start dancing again before I turn into the blob. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

freedomg (520) | 3 months ago | I did I would be one of the first ones in the club and one of the last ones out at least 2 nights a week, and I danced nearly the whole time I was there. Plus dancing around the house everyday. As for the work out videos ... yeah I tried one and I have no idea what that lady was on but that was not dancing. I have recently started trying to learn belly dancing with show called "shimmy" and it is pretty fun. It still feels very different than real dancing. You know when you've been on the floor so long and danced so hard parts of your body hurts that you had forgotten you had but you don't care because you are having too much fun. That was me. I really miss it. I would hit hip hop clubs, salsa, there was an eighties club that was a lot of fun too. If there was music I was there and moving. I don't know if I did it all very well but I gave it 110%.

freedomg (520) | 3 months ago | I try to go swimming as often as I can but there is a 4 year old attached to me the whole time so I don't get as much exercise as I could. Though she does make a really cute little water weight. Lift and tickle is her favorite exerise.

I lost weight just thinking (haha). It is really a stressful time in my life and hectic too. I say if that is what you enjoy, dance away. Maybe instead of a club, invite your husband to join with others at a restaurant where there is music and band and dancing of course. My parents attend those events and they have lost lots of weight dancing.

freedomg (520) | 3 months ago | O.k. I'm totally jealous, I get stressed and gain weight. Even if I don't eat extra for some reason the weight sticks. Every one in my family (on Moms side)have some serious weight issues too. As for the hubby and dancing... I've learned to enjoy dancing alone. It's much more fun than the broken toes. LOL. I told everyone last night that from now one when I'm cleaning I'm turning on my music and all t.v.s are off. If they don't like my music go outside to play.

freedomg (520) | 2 months ago | First off you did not screw up. My mom has had to fight with her weight all of her life at one point she weighed 408 lbs. And much like you as soon as she had started to make real head way her knees went and now she's trying to lose enough weight to be able to handle the surgery she needs for a huge hernia, but she can't walk across a room let alone work out. She comes to my house so she can go swimming. We help her in and out but other than that she's good. the water keeps the pressure off her knees and hernia. She says it feels great and she has lost 15 lbs just doing this for 3 days every two weeks and eating better. I send her $ for fresh food (the cheap stuff will kill you). You'll be o.k. as soon as you realize that you are worth fighting for. P.S. your partner never deserved you if they bailed at the first sign of trouble, and love will find you as soon as you are open to it again. Just give it time.
