Would you go on vacation on your kids' first day of school?  

No! plain and simple my children always come first and a childs first day at school is important, its a big thing in their life and when it happens I will be there to talk with them allow them to show me what they did and be there to comfort them when they will probably be very very tired from such a long day.

I deserve a holiday of course I do but my children come first I wouldnt have had them if im not willing to put them first

MMMMM I love my daughter to pieces. I have taken her out of school before to take her on a free trip that we won. It was a two week trip that was fully paid for two. I paid only for her tickets to the places that we went to. And she slept in the same bed as my husband and I.

I would try to take her with me if possible, cause a child's ticket is cheaper than an adults.

But if she could not go I would be postponing the trip. Because your child is more important than a trip.

I don't think I could do that to my kids. I know their first day of school is as important to them as it is to me. I would feel very guilty if I did that to my kids. I don't think I would be able to sleep at night knowing that I missed their first day of school.

i don't think i would. i'm sure i'd be too excited preparing her for when it's finally time to start schooling - and anxious at the same time, that nothing could stand in the way of my taking her to school on the first day. family always goes first. especially the children!

I am not sure if I would go alone without my child.. We have gone on vacation and didn't get home until a couple of days into the school year, but I am not sure if I would leave my child so that I could go alone.. But my child is 27 now and I wouldn't have to worry about a situation like this.. So I can't speak honestly about this discussion, but I do not believe that I would go..

I would go, but I would strongly consider my childs feelings. I would probably take hem along if it's possible.
