I keep it on along with all the online communities I belong to. I also use Thunderbird, and e-mail client which is open 24 hours a day so if I am on my computer I know within seconds of any of these notifications.

I leave it on and then I have a folder and a rule that seperates the discussions into a managable size. This works out very well for me and I have been doing it like that for a long time now. I do not however allow everyone to be my friend and that cuts down on some of the junk e-mail (junk questions) that I was getting. Thank you, Zelo

At this point I have been spending so much time on mylot that I haven't needed to turn notify on. Because I just go through the front page and look at discussions my friends have started. But I think if I slow down at all, or don't spend as much time here I will put the alerts on, so I can still keep up with my friends discussions and stuff. But that probably won't be anytime soon.

Yea, I like to have notify on, so I get emails when my friends start new discussions.

Hi Raclie, everytime I get a new friend, the first thing I do is turn their notifications on, that way I know I dont forget because I always check my e-mail first thing when I turn my computer on. Cheers, Tianna

I have a lot of friends so I think I will have tons of emails if I would turn my email notification on. That would really pile up in my inbox and I would have problems on replying on them. So I turn all the notifications off. I just trust the "discussions my friends started" page to where I can reply to my friends. That way I don't feel pressured that I have to reply to all of my friends' discussions. I only reply to discussions where I have something to contribute to. I hope you are not offended if I won't reply to some of your discussions.

I hae made a ton of friends on here, and it took me atleast a week to go through them all, and turn each individual notify on. I actually started a discussion aout how nice it would be i tere was a way for me to turn them all on at once. I get flooded with e-mails, but that's fine with me. I love the money I'm making because I'm able to respond faster than I could have before I turned all my notifications on.

I do have my notifications turned on for many of my friends. But I rarely check my Yahoo email account for emails. So, I miss them all! Instead, I surf through MyLot and find discussions under the friends link. It's just my way of keeping things interesting. Guess there's the random chance I'll find something and the possibility I'll miss something. Eventually, I find everyone's discussions!
