Anybody here like the old country music singers?  

Oh my goodness! I can't even imagine what an Irishman would sound like singing country music. I've never heard that one. Of course some English people sound American when they sing but not when they talk.

I would love to hear the Irishmen! I really like Irish accents.

I like Kenny also. John Denver I don't really know much about. Rocky Top is one of his songs right? I know I know some of them but I just can't remember them right now..lol.

What insturment do you play...banjo? I love hearing banjo music. Of course the thing I like best is Dueling Banjos and it's not country..lol.

Dueling Banjos is Bluegrass but a great track, I play guitar & upright bass. I'd love to learn banjo they sound amazing :)

What's upright bass? Is it a like a big guitar or like a cello or what? Sorry for being so ignorant. I bet you could learn banjo since you already play other insturments.

Upright Bass is Double Bass as used by Rockabilly bands such as The Stray Cats etc, so the next size up from a Cello. As for Banjo, it's something I've always wanted to learn, been contemplating buying one for some time now

I have a friend who learned to play the banjo two years ago. Before that she'd only played guitar and that little short guitar looking instrument I can't think of the name of...lol. Anyway, she is in her 50's so if she can learn I'm sure you can!

I think the small instrument you're referring too would be a Mandolin, thats what it sounds like :) & yes, I realize it's not to late to learn Banjo, I'd probably pick it up in a week

That's it! Sometimes I can't think of what I'm talking about. It goes along with a condition I have. It's very frustrating!

Yep, that is true. Often it's a sad story, but it's a story. I like songs that make sense. My husband laughs at me when he's listening to some rock song and I ask him what it's supposed to mean. He says it doesn't have to mean anything.

Lone Star isn't as old as the others mentioned but they are definitely not a new group. I like a few of their songs.
