Why did Gandalf turn into the White Wizard  | |  my knowledge on the lorf of the rings is limited. What I have always wondered is Why did Gandalf the Grey turn into a White wizard? The white wizard was Saruman
did he ascend into a higher rank? did he become white because saruman had turned to Sauron or what?
