What's the staple food in your area?

Like you, Rice! Hehe! I feel incomplete if I don't have rice for lunch and dinner. It makes me feel better if I get to eat my usual dose of rice along with my favorite dishes. Breakfast though, I don't get to eat rice because I feel bloated.

In my area chapattis is the staple food in my area,but i love to eat rice and noodles.

I think that rice, bread and potatoes are the staple foods around here. I know in my home we have rice every night with dinner and we always have bread and potatoes in the house. We can get by without the potatoes in the house for a little while but the bread and rice would be bad. We also eat a lot of corn based foods.

Rice is also the main food here in our place. We do not pass the day without rice. Of course, there are also lots of stores offer burgers, pizza and other foreign foods. But rice is still number one here...

rice is also our staple food in the philippines. it's like the food serve are not complete without rice on the table. that is why philippines is still importing rice from other countries.

We have rice shortage here in the Philippines. Rice is a necessity for us here. We cannot eat without rice unless you go on a diet. Since we have shortage on rice, many of us especially those who are in poverty line can't eat three times a day because the amount of rice was increase. They don't have enough money to sustain food for their children and give the right nourishment. Too bad. Malnutrition is coming back then. =(

Same as you ifglan, rice is also our staple food as well in my country. We have rice for our lunch and dinner. Sometimes we do have coconut milk rice with spicy shrimps, chicken curry and spicy vegetable pickles as our breakfast. We are used to eat rice daily and never got bored of it. We usually will feel uneasy if we don't take rice for meals for a couple of days. The dishes play the most important role whether the rice is delicious or not. So the dishes we prepared daily are multifarious so as to make sure we don’t have the same dishes everyday. Occasionally we would have fried noodles, curry noodle or dumplings filled with delicious meat for our lunch, to make our meal a bit different as usual.

The answer is rice.

Here in my place, it's rice also. I myself cannot eat without rice. I can consume lots of rice even with just a small amount of viand. I know it's not good for the health because it's carbo but i just can't help it.

The staple food in our coutry is rice and i wont have any other food replacing it being another staple food,because I am used to eating rice since I was a kid and I really love it,Another thing is that you can have many different dishes that can be made out of rice.Hope you liked my response,have a nice day.
