My step son was always afraid to drive and didn't really start until he went away to college. I never did understand that. I couldn't wait to be able to drive. It was a part of growing up and becoming independant.

Haahahahahahahaha This is too funny. Maybe she just wanted to leae badly enough that it out-weighed her greated fear. Tha's happened to me beore. I don't drie (I'm legally blind) but there hae been times when I have wanted something so much that I have done something I didn't want to do, just to get out o a situatio which I felt was een worse.

Make her drive and get over that fear.. I used to drive but haven't in over 30 years.. I can if need be and used to drive but I have such a fear and it is getting worse, that I don't think that I will ever drive again.. Make her overcome the fear of driving, before she can't get over it.. I have a chauffeur and he has never complained, all I have to do is tell him let's go and we go, of course he is also my hubby and he loves to drive anyway.. He has always said that if "Donna wants to go, then Donna will go", anywhere she wants me to take her.. So I let him take me anywhere I want to go.. But I can drive if I ever had to in case of an emergency, it would make me a nervous wreck, but I could..

That's not only funny, but it's creative parenting. And it will give her the practice she needs to take the actual driving test. Good thinking.

That's a great idea! It will get her over her fears and give you a break, too. That took a lot for her to get into the car and drive, she must be a very brave person underneath that driving anxiety.

I think that is hilarious. I actually did something like this when I had my permit to one of my friends. That is an excellent punishment and will be good for her as well. Driving isn't really very scary and all it takes is her to learn how to react.
