My ultimate dream in life is to migrate to New Zealand and tour that lovely country for the rest of my life. But there was this news article I saw on the internet about several immigrants being beaten. Somebody please tell me, are Asian immigrants no longer welcome in New Zealand? Are there people from New Zealand here? Do you dislike Asian immigrants coming to your country?

2. zandi458 (1538) | 3 months ago | As what I have read New Zealand is a nice place to live. My friend went to New zealand with the intention to migrate. But after 2 years she came back and sold every asset she acquired while still there. Her reason was she misses home so much that she could not survive with unfamiliar surroundings and people. True to the saying there is no place like home.

polaris714 (224) | 3 months ago | Yes, that reminds me of the story of the man who travelled all over the world looking for diamonds, and then returned home disappointed, only to find that his backyard was filled with them (well, maybe not exactly filled with diamonds, but enough to make him a rich man) But there are some people who really can't survive being far from home. Still, I have been far from home for the last 15 years, so maybe New Zealand is not such a bad place to be lonely...:) Thanks for your response

3. blackmantra_x (2013) | 2 months ago | good day.. I've heard a lot about New Zealand, about it's crime rate, the industry and the people and honestly all that I've heard were good, majority of it at least if not all. So I think to know a country better why not try to read no only one newspaper but several and weight their opinions after which you can make you own.

4. maximax8 (4304) | 2 months ago | I went to New Zealand in 2001 and 2002. I found the New Zealand people really friendly and kind. The population is less than 4 million people. I don't think that they are racist at all. I liked the areas of Northland and Coromandel Peninsular. I liked seeing the ancient trees, the stunning beaches, historic Kerikeri and seeing the wildlife. The weather was changeable just like in the UK but the seasons were the opposite. That means summer is December, January and February whilst winter is June, July and August. I hope that you will migrate to New Zealand and that you will be welcomed and treated fairly by the lovely people that live there.

6. buzzmaker (268) | 2 months ago | I know that New Zealand is very beautiful country with breath taking landscapes. But I wouldn't want to migrate to New zealand. Even the country I live in has beautiful breath taking landscapes, seascapes. But I would like to visit New zealnd at once. Those who have see the Movies "Lord of the Rings" would know that its all pictured in New zealand. I was amazed to see the nature in those movies and would like to see it in real. So, I wouldn't migrate but visit it once.

polaris714 (224) | 2 months ago | Yeah, I saw that movie too, sat crosslegged on the hard cold floors of an overcrowded moviehouse just to see that one - and for the record, I am not a moviegoer type. And yes, those scenes were breathtaking. Also Tom Cruise's The Last Samurai, wasn't that shot in New Zealand too? Loved the scenery. And yes, if I never get to migrate to NZ, I would at least love to visit the place - maybe for 6 months:)

| 7. Anne19 (74) | 2 months ago | I have made an application before to New Zealand, but unfortunately I wasn't able to pursue it. The expenses was quite high and the process was quite tedious. However, my consultancy told me things about New Zealand. She has told me that New Zealand was almost like Singapore in some way. The occupants of the country comes from almost all countries, that they are quite open to all nationals. Discrimination is very low as compared to the US and Australia. People are more friendly, lay back and just. Some stories that you might have heard may be true, but I guess that the prevalence of those cases weren't that high. It might even be an isolated case for all we know. And beating up of people may have a different reason which could not be linked to his status as an immigrant. After all, how many people have experienced those stuff? Considering that there's a lot of immigrants in NZ, because their government is keen on recruiting people to migrate in their country.

polaris714 (224) | 2 months ago | Yeah, I think you are right. Beating up people, it is SO not in keeping with the image of New Zealand in my mind. Such a pity you were not able to pursue your application. Actually, I haven't started my application yet because I am not sure yet when to leave my job here, but its in my List of Things I Want to Do Before I Die:) Does that sound morbid
