There's always two kinds of news, bad news or good news. My brother always do that to me, asking me what
I wanted to know first bad news or good news. I'm sure everyone of us here has some experienced about it. My experienced is like this: I had a newly purchased usb, my brother used it in one of the internet cafe's in our place.
After two hours he come back home and brought me two news. He let me choose first...which of the two? So I choose bad news first. He told me that on the way home he found out that he left the usb in the cafe. So he hurried back to retreive it. But unfortunately it was nowhere to be found. He used another pc just to think how did it happen.Alas, he found a usb attached to the cpu of the pc he was using. He immediately get out of the cafe after paying.
And he told me the good news. He got a new USB for me. I just cry...where's the good news?

I guess I would always prefer to have bad news first as then it means there is something good to come along after it!
It does depend though as sometimes some people see some news as not so good anyway so if you think to tell them the so called good news second to try and cheer them up they may not think it's good after all and still be upset! x

Hi lyzabelle, if I were given the chance to pick, I would rather prefer to hear the good news first. You know, bad news always will depress us and to make feel unpleasant so I hope the good news I receive later will refreshed and energize me, hoping this would help me to restore the happy mood again.
In your case mentioned, both were bad news to you, as from the latter news you had learned that you still couldn't get back your newly bought usb.
posting and have a nice day.

For some reason I like to hear the bad news first. That way I end on a happy note.

i would rather want to hear the bad news first then hear the good news first, because i want to know what is something wrong then know what is that something good. it's nice to be happy in the end that be sad in the end right? but whatever the order is, if the news are really extremes, then it doesnt matter which is which you hear first and hear the last.

I prefer the bad news first. Then I can be cheered up by the good. Of this assumes that both pieces of news are equivalent.
