how a discussion become top discussion ? / myLot

i have seen lots of top discussion here and i wonder how they become top discussions we discuss lots of things here and got even more than 10 to 13 response too but i m unable to find out how mylot consider a discussion is top ? do you have any idea how a simple discussion become a top discussion ?

I think that if a discussion accumulates many responses within a short duration, it's listed in the top discussions. However, if a discussion attracts a steady flow of responses, even though sluggishly, then it'll be listed in the hot topics.

i got 11 response in my last discussion still its not under top discussion i think getting response is not enough to be in top discussion what do you think ?

Have you checked out the other pages? It's not mandatory that your discussion will always be listed in the first one. I myself had a discussion with 18 responses 4 days back which was listed in the top discussions first page for a while but started getting to the back pages as other such discussions poured in as happens with normal new discussions. Also search for it in the hot topics.
