What makes someone a celebrity?  | |  As far as I'm concerned, a celebrity needs to have done something noteworthy and worthwhile. They need to have earned respect in their particular field. Nowadays, the term celebrity is grossly overused. People become celebrities for standing in the checkout queue behind the sister of someone whose next-door neighbour went on holiday to the same resort as a man whose second cousin twice removed used to drink in the same pub as ataxi driver who once drove someone whose school friend's sister claimed to have slept with a man whose uncle failed the audition for X-factor!!! So, I guess we could all be celebrities via a similar route??

It's like when someone is on TV all the time I think they will eventually become a celebrity everyone will know them, then like them. Well being famous. Thats what I think makes a celebrity.
