Our Annual Physical Exams held two weeks ago was released today. I am a diabetic so one of the requirements taken from me was FBS and cholesterol test. My FBS went normal but my cholesterol level remained hi. This has been my results for almost every blood test I have. what does this mean I feel I am not diabetic but a prehypertensioned person.

You should be very careful with causes of hypertension specially in your case that your cholesterol level is too high. High cholesterol tends to run in families, so obviously genes play a role. But a variety of lifestyle factors also affect cholesterol levels ? including diet, activity level, and body weight. Cholesterol build-up can also disrupt the way the heart beats, increasing the risk that blood clots will form.
I've been into reading and learning about this since Job has hypertension and his BP rate is fluctuating from 160/120 to 130/110. You should watch your diet carefully from saturated fats and trans fat, the cooking oil you are using at home may have a big factor so watch out. Do a lot of exercises, seems your fingers had a lot of typing exercises -- rise up and do some bending!

Thanks for the response. I think I need to really follow your advices in here. My BP has been normal for the last several months now. What really troubles me is the Cholesterol levels which seems to remain at high levels. I started an exercise regimen and really watch what I eat lately hopefully it does have an impact on my BP and cholesterol levels.

it does show that your diabetes is under control.it doesnot mean that you are free from diabetes but then you should be more careful about your diet,as the cholestrol levels are still high.maybe you should mix diet with proper exercise to get the desired results.

Being diabetic is not about feelings - it's not even about age (I have a friend who has been diabetic since high school). My father is diabetic but I don't think he "feels" like it although he acts really careful with his choice of food and is now under a voluntary strict diet to lose weight - but still making sure that he doesn't go "hypo" because of hunger :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!
