which would you prefer, to work in a government agency or in a private company or corporation? right now, i'm working as a government employee. i worked for the government for less than two years now and i find good to work here. there is less pressure here not just like in the private company where i worked before. the only thing i don't like here is the salary which much less than in private. but the positive thing is that, we have more benefits. i guess i will stay here till i grow old.

Like what most people say - the grass is always greener on the other side. Private sector offers you endless possibility of the maximum pay you can have. You threatened to resigned, your boss doubles your pay immediately. Economy doing bad, market plunged, job data at its low, retrenchment sadly will take place and many will be retrenched or lay off. Trade off, low stability, higher and faster progression. Public sector, government of civil service, iron rice-bowl, red tapes everywhere, difficult to get things move. You do your work and your boss gets everything. Rosy picture painted for you, but the fact is you are getting nowhere. Economy crisis, you still get to stay in your job. For the aspired and ambitions, one mistake in public sector you are a 'gonner' most typically. But those who are less incline for higher progression and like to stay in comfort zone, public service is for you. Trade low, stagnant pay and progress, job stability is there. Cheers.

I prefer to work for a government company but if I am employed in private, I would prefer a big private company which will gives an assurance of our work- that is the duration of our work will be ensured for a life-time if the private company is a big one under a big group. Working for government also is very good. I want to work for a big company where the hierarchy is well defined- private or public. And where, there is a defined aim of the company where I can align my vision with that of the company- that is bringing a change in the organization.
