I have had a stressful morning dealing with stupid child support crap, so I decided that I am going to go make some cookies. I had a request at the gas station for some oatmeal raisin cookies to be added to the basket, so I am going to make some. I make them with an ice cream scoop, so they are nice and big. Who wants one? When did you last bake cookies?

I was actually planning on making some oatmeal raisin cookies soon myself I just need to get the butter. I also was going to make oatmeal cherry cookies. My grandma got dried cherries from food box and I figured that would be good with the cookies too. And I have lots of raisins because I too got a big bag from food box. :)

Just about any dried fruit is good in oatmeal cookies. My sister thinks that they taste like cherry cobbler with the dried cherries in them.

I used to make them all the time, but I had not made any in a long time before that. I am making another batch today.

I'll take some. Yum, yum. It has been too long since I baked cookies. And the last time I did they were not homemade (I cheated). I have a great oatmeal raisin cookie recipe somewhere. You have inspired me to find it and bake some this weekend, or maybe even this evening since I will have the house to myself. It is a great thing to come into a house full of the smell of fresh baked cookies.... I may just surprise my son and hubby tonight. Thanks.

Di you end up making any cookies for your son and hubby? I just finished baking some peanut butter cookies with toffee chunks in them and the house smells amazing. The fact that I just made the toffee too is helping with the smell.

Go for it lilybug. The way that you make them with an ice cream scoop is interesting. It would definitely make them huge, lol. Although, I am not into raisins at all, but if you keep a couple aside that don't contain them I would love to have some.

They are pretty big, but since it is a wetter cookie dough it is not really that big. My peanut butter ones with toffee chunks in them are about 4 1/2 inches in diameter though.

Lilybug, I want one of your cookies!!! I haven't had oatmeal raisin cookies in so long. And with ice cream to boot!!! That just makes my mouth water. I typically bake cookies once a month. And I'll bake whatever cake the kids want for their birhtdays too :D So sometimes it is twice a month. I hope to get more into it at Christmas time too and bake many different assortments of cookies and bars and such. Thanks for the post and don't forget to send me a cookie :D

Oh, I love Christmas baking. It is always so much fun. I enjoy making all sorts of things around that time. Ok, who am I kidding? I love to bake all the time. I have one batch of cookies done so far today and I will be making another in a little bit.
