Why Can't Others Respond To NewComers' Discussions Here at MyLot?

For almost three months now, I have been an observant member of mylot. As I have told you before guys, at first I thought my purpose of joining here is for monetary benefit only and nothing more..but as days went on and I began to flourish as a mylotter myself, just like many other members out there, I was awakened to the fact that I am joining this site to help myself--by being able to express all my feelings and ideas to the community, and most importantly, to be able to extend help to those who need help-- those who need advices and recommendations and especially to a newcomer who is a bit strange and quite disoriented about mylot site. But to my observation, every time a new post pops out from a newcomer, most of us evade responding to it.. although there were also times that because they don't know that much about how things are done here, they post lesser sensible issues or topics, but there were really those interesting topics posted by newbies getting only 2 or 0 responses at all. What could have been the cause of others not to respond to newcomers' discussion here at mylot? For me, as long as the topic is interesting and I can relate to it honestly, I will always respond to a newbie's discussion because I still can remember when I was also like them before---groping for thoughts to post and information from responses. Happy posting to all!

It is 100% true i must say. very few newcomers post very sensible discussion. i have also seen even if those can be answered, very few people answer them. may be they think that those people can be banned or anything like that. also popularity rules here. There are some very popular users who have hundreds of responses each time whatever discussion they start.

I don't think any mylotter will evade new mylotters discussion. Their discussions are not getting much exposure. The new ones will be having less friends and chance of their being responded is less as their discussion is only shown in the interest category. i never take the number of posts of mylotters as a criteria for responding. If they ask for any help, i will be happy to help them if i can. I will respond if i know something about the topic.

To be honest with you, I always go to the Zero responses and to the new user discussion because they have less respoinses and I am not having a hard time reading all the response before I will post mine. So, there is n problem with me.

When I exhaust all the topics I like, I will often jump up to new discussions and new user discussions and see what is going on. I know, from experience when I first came here about a month ago, people seem to avoid you until they get to know your ways. Or, perhaps it is until you get enough friends that will post to your topics. I love to check out all the newbies myself. Lots of times, they have good topics. I have noticed that lots, though, post only a sentence or two and it makes it hard to respond with more than a couple sentences.
