A koala survived being dragged for almost nine miles with its head stuck in the grille of a car with barely a scratch. The koala is named "Lucky Grilles" after his narrow escape and is now recovering at a wildlife refuge.

After an examination on the 8 year old showed that he was in good health and had no serious injuries.

Lucky was found with his bottom sticking out of the grille of a woman's car after she pulled up at a petrol station near Brisbane. The driver had noticed a koala on the road but drove on when she failed to see anything in her rear mirror earlier.
Only was it when she stopped the koala was found.

Lucky is now being kept for treatment for an infection he was found to have before the incident .

this is interesting and could only happen in Australia i guess! beyond the fact that the animal was a koala which is only found in Australia!

I think no other country has so much wildlife roaming freely about. cars have to look out for wallabies, kangaroos and koalas too! not to mention hedgehogs and the like who somehow like to cross roads.

here's to careful driving! and all the best to lucky grilles!
