So why is my discussion title like this? Read and I'll explain... .... .... .... .... .... .... Ummm... I'm writing this discussion write to know why most myLotters just read and respond based on the title. Sometimes they don't fully read the discussion. I can't help but notice that. Since there are significant details or thoughts written and they don't get to see them or respond based on those details. Am I making any sense? So right now, I was just wondering, do you guys read the discussion from start to finish and respond to it, or just respond by getting the thought from the title? I do read the discussions I respond to, although there were 2 or 3 discussions that I've responded from only reading the titles. That was way back when I first got here. How would you deal with those people who respond without reading the whole discussion and not getting your point?

hello selece.. how are you ?? I'm new here in this site. I'm trying to figure out little for reading discussions and giving comments. Actually I agree with your other friends that other people just rely on the the title of the topic if it would sound interested or not.But some other people are quite serious to read discussions and give comments. Maybe try to have some twist to give it more some exciting to the title of the topic you want to open. have a happy day

I read the whole post no matter how long or short it is. I respond to as much as I think to. I try to answer all things that I remember that was brought up. I forget some times somethings and think just as I hit the send button oh, I forget to say...this or that. I will reread the post sometimes to make sure I answered everything but not always. As for the people that don't actually respond to what I write. As I read their post and realize their post don't relate to what I wrote I say oh well to it and move on.

That's really nice of you, I too read the whole discussion and respond to what I remember or think regarding what was said. I sometimes even reread before I finalize it. Thanks for the response!

I hope you are not expecting many responses to this discussion because some people will have misunderstood the title. If some people don't bother to read the topic before replying they will get negative ratings when others read their response and see it does not relate to the discussion, only to the heading. That is what the [-] rating is for. I do read the opening post before I respond to a discussion, and I read and rate the other responses too. I find some of them quite funny when I see they have only read the title before responding. Those people will never earn much at myLot because they are not adding quality responses to the discussions.

Yes, I intentionally did that hehe. Well, I know for a fact that the title really gets the attention of people, I wanted to try something different. Hehe. Guess I should make use of the "-" when it happens, I'm too passive when it comes to that. Hehe. I actually hate it when they only base their responses on the title. Although sometimes it also makes me laugh too. Thanks for taking time to respond here.

Hie Selece, I am wondering what is Selece is up to nowThat's a catchy title " MISUNDERSTOOD" and I do normally open posts with titles that catch my attention. I would read the whole post and then decide whether I am capable to give a quality response to the posts that is interesting to me. I do find along the way some responses are clueless and while others are hoping to pull through to earn something with their single or two wordings responses. So nowadays I mostly leave them unattended and move on.I would prefer to focus on those quality responses then comment on these or even to negative rate them. It's quality all the way for me as I hardly have the time these days. Yes, I would rather spend my precious time and give my attention to those people who deserve it. And would also try my best in giving my quality responses/comments in return. These clueless responders would definitely will not earn much or gain any good reputation either. Cheers and have a wonderful weekend.

Missed talking to you guys. Wah.. I looked through my said discussion, I didn't mention anything about my myLot name there LoL... I don't know were I made mention where it came from... Ugh... Haha. Maybe I'll post a topic about it. Hehe.

Hello desierra! Oh I see, you were you around when I posted a discussion about inroducing our names here and our real names? Umm, Selece came from a fictional character on one of the anime's I've watched when I was a kid. I think it's a cool name, so I used it. Although "Rain" was my usual name as a writer. Oops, off-topic. Yes, I think we should focus more on those who deserve our attention. I could totally relate with what you just said. Maybe I should just leave them unattended too hehe. But I thought of giving a "-" this time. I have always been too passive. Hehe. Anyway, thanks for sharing! I really appreciate it. Have a nice day!

this may not make much sense. i read from my email, the discussion intro, but none of the answers before i answer. i go from my email to respond to this, respond, then sometimes read the other responses. unless its wayyyyy long like a couple, then i dont bother to finish reading or respond. unless its something im crazy to read about.

Yes, I know that it might not make sense, but I did it intentionally. I agree with what you said. Sometimes if it is way too long we lose the urge to finish reading it. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting way to get our attention :-). I usually read the whole discussin because after all the title can't tell you everything right?? But a good title can get your discussion going for you that is for sure. I too get annoyed if an answer to a question tells me something that I have already wrote in my discussion. But hey that's the way it goes sometimes.

Thanks! Hehe. Yes, you are right. And yes good titles get the attention of people but is may get responses like the one I mentioned. Guess, it really happens and we can't avoid it. Thanks for the response!

hi s elece know what you mean. I have had a number of responses that showed the person had not read my discussion' at all for the response made no sense. I very gently asked the poster to reread the discussion then repost as his response made no sense.

Hello! Ah yes, maybe it's okay to say that to those who responded that way. What I did was just to comment on what they said. Thanks for sharing!

The title is what gets your attention but how can you fully discuss or contribute to the discussion unless you read their whole thing? I think if people are doing that then they are just typing for the numbers and trying to meet a goal. That type of information is probally not valuable to the person or others that participate and/or look at the discussions. In order that this serves the purpose that it was created it has to be done that way.

Yes! Very well said! Some people only type for the numbers... sad. But I appreciate people who read the full content. Thanks for the response!

That did catch my attention. Instead of rushing into "respond to this discussion" like I did when I was new here, I had to read what this was all about. I didn't want to embarrass myself anymore. How do I deal with people who were once like me when I first got here? I just mostly ignore it. Even if they're no longer a newbie and didn't get my point, I would just ignore it.

Hello my friend, well I didn't get responses like those from you on my discussions. Well, I guess at some point people tend to do so, some may be for good reasons and some for not-so-good reasons. Thanks for sharing!

You have made a very important statement with this post. The title to any discussion is what draws your attention to it. lol But, go back and read your line about writing this discussion "right". No pun intended, I did the same thing the other day. We are only human! Anyway, we all know that some really don't bother reading these posts that much. It's all about how many replies they can come up with and the money made from doing so. That's almost sad to me. It all becomes a wasteland of useless words.

Hehe yeah. That was a typo, and sometimes you say the same words in your head that you don't notice to write a different thing. Get what I mean hehe. That's also sad when people only respond to make money, it loses the essence of discussion-response relationships. Hehe. Thanks for sharing!
