Please note the text below placed on a professional business networking site that I belong to. It is not my own excerpt and is attributed to a recruiter - Matthew Hillier. I wished to share it as I find it extremely interesting! Can you guess who's CV this is referring to?? Here is the text:"Just for grins, I marketed a candidate for a few mid level management positions. I have included a brief synopsis of the resume sent below. Short version: I marketed this individual as having a law degree, experienced in organizing labor, active in his community and had experience working with advocacy groups and programs. I also noted that the individual had served in the State legislature, but changed the state to Texas for a reason that will become clear in a moment..... Bottom line: this candidate was submitted to 5 companies. All 5 said that this candidate was not qualified for a management position. One client went so far as to say that this candidate would be better off managing a retail store in a mall. All companies agreed that there was no practical experience exhibited by this candidate. All companies agreed that this candidate was under qualified for any senior or even mid level management roles within their organizations. Here is a synopsis of the resume sent: Education Undergraduate Occidental College, Los Angeles, CA Undergraduate, 1981-1983 Columbia University B.A. Political Science with specialization in international relations Thesis topic: Soviet nuclear disarmament Graduate Harvard Law School J.D. magna c laude 1988-1991 1983-1988 Director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Greater Roseland on Chicago's South Side. 1992 Led Chicago's Project Vote! push. 1993-2004 Visiting Law and Government Fellow, then Senior Lecturer, in Constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School. Law Practice 1993-2002 Worked as an associate attorney with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. 2002-2004 Member of State Legislature Care to take a guess who all 5 clients turned down for a mid level management position?"Let's see who on myLot can work out who this person is!!!!

I've guessed But to keep the suspence going a bit longer I'll add this: "There is no historical correlation between experience and a successful presidency" Who know?

Lol! Well I certainly appreciate you allowing the suspense to continue at least for a little while! We will see in due course if your guess is correct and then you can say "I told you so!". Thanks for responding.

Ah... but they did not play fair. If the candidate's race had been mentioned he would have been given a job anyway so as to either 'look good' or fill a 'quota'. I leave someone else to 'guess' the candidate.

No they didn't really play fair at all! But I found it interesting nonetheless! The race angle you have pointed out is an interesting aspect and I would have to agree with you unfortunately. Thanks for responding.
