the solar energy is free. the govt. provides subsidy to install solar panels for various uses so that the burdn of producing more electricity can be reduced.
still many of us have not gone for using solar power. why ?
are we not conscious of the cost and the scarcity of lectricity?
when will we change our mindset?
are we not aware that it will conserve our natural resources and save us from hazards of pollution?
why dont we go for it?

well,to be honest..the reasons for why still solar power is not spread among us is
1.electricity is still being used in homes, because they are distributed for lower rate, like Rs.0.75/unit in rural areas...doesn't that sound good?..
2.solar power panels are somewhat of higher cost...so people have started to think "why to pay high, when it is got at a lower rate...?!"
Like you and me people wont think about the pollutin and all..the only thing that matters is MONEY..
SO IF GOVERNMENT REALLY CONCERNS ON THIS ISSUE Y DONT THEY ITSELF INSTALL A PANEL FOR EVERY STREET?? ITS NOT A MATTER FOR'EM..IF THEY CAN CANCEL Rs.70,000 CRORES LOANS,CONCERNING THE WELL BEING OF FARMERS...WHY CANT THEY DO THIS...??
or i have another better idea to change people...electricity should be charged Rs.25/unit....THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THAT I KNOW!?
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT BRO?

hi vicky thanks for responding . well as you said about the costs if all of us start using solar panels, the demand will increase and many business houses will show interest and start investing in these products manufacturing , the competition will automatically catch up and will automatically reduce the price line.
it is avicious circle and pure economics!!

hi dear use of solar power is indeed very useful..though w do not have much opportunities here and it has not been utilized well...a very simple example my mom has a solar cooker we were in Madhya Pradesh so normally it used to be nice and sunny..my mom used to cook rice, steamed vegetables and dal in the solar cooker..she has even baked delicious cakes in the solar cooker..so i have actually seen them use solar energy and saving on gas..

i would do it but my state doesnt give enough of a refund for me to buy them.. some states totally pay for them for your house but mine doesnt
i think the way my house is it wouldnt help as much just because of the shade but any help would be great but oh well..

Well while the normal PV solar system now costs around $10 per watt and the average wattage needed is 3500 watts ($35,000) in CA you can get about $8K back and many other states offer some help, but even without this help the system would pay for itself within 10-11 years with most panels haveing a 25 year warrenty this pays for itself 2 1/2 times. Also many companies now offer 20 year loans wich actually cost less than what you save on your electric bill so in turn you actually make money on the system. Not to mention the value it brings to your home. Also keep an eye out for a company called Nano solar which has found a way to produce solar power at only .99 to the watt ($3500 instead of $35,000) by actually printing it onto sheets of metal. This should start making its way out in the next few years. At least lets hope it does.

ya using solar power is good alternative but it has several disadvantages, like cost of pannel is very high, poer out is very low, takes up large amount of space if you need more power, and will face problem during rainy season..
but using solar power is really good when we look at environmemtal side.

I think if the option of solar energy was more available to the everyday person we would use it more. Solar panels and the like are hard to come by and from what I understand, pretty expensive too. It's too bad, I think solar power is perfect for individual power use. It may not be the best choice for large scale energy but for a single household, I think it would really cut down on energy costs.
