Power Generation From the Sea |
|
I find this amazing. Please read the article.
http://gizmodo.com/5027168/worlds-first-tidal-turbine-power-station-goes-online-doesnt-blend-seals.
A new power generation plant went on line in Northern Ireland. It is operated by the ocean tides. It will produce enough electricity to light up one thousand homes. It is designed in a way that it well not hurt any sea creatures because the blades only make 10 to 15 revolutions per minute.
This is such a great idea. The ocean is constantly moving so it is an ideal source for producing energy. It will not be affected like wind turbines which only can operate if the wind blows. The water is constantly in motion.
What do you think about this?

3. cjgrooms (3194) | 1 year ago | I think it would be great. We need as many alternate energy sources as we can get. Unfortunately the United States is so arrogant (i hate it to, but you have to admit that politicians make us seem that way to the rest of the world) that we won't try anything else until it is as close to too late as it can get.

1grnthmb (1557) | 1 year ago | Yeah! why did it take so long for some one to actually develop something like this? I remember reading about wave generators in popular science back in the early 70's. And it took 35 some years for them to develop it. They say it is very safe for the marine life so I would think it is just as green as wind generators.
