Maple wood Shooting and 22 year old man dies  | |  I was watching the news and there was a story on about a shooting that happened
yesterday in Maple wood Missouri. This guy called 911 and told them that his house
was on fire. So the sent the firefighters out to put it out. The unbelieve happened
the guy started shooting at them and killed a 22 year old firefighter. I just
couldn't believe it. The tears was stream down my face as I watched the family
talking about the young man. He was 3 years younger then me and had his whole
life head of him. After a long shooting the guy caught his house on fire and died.
So why did he have to kill someone? I just can't believe why did that man have to
died. They don't know why he did what he did. I guess we will never know.
I just feel for the family. He didn't die fighting a fire,rescue a family in need
he died because someone is F---ed up in the head. This hits home because my
grandpa has a chief of fire deparment. He has now passed away. why o why does
this happen?

can figure. a twenty two year old with his whole life ahead of
him and he gets killed. Its a tradgedy for sure and probably '
no one will ever know why this happened.

| | 2.  carolbee (4487) | 3 months ago |  I was so upset when this happened. I live in Missouri and about 15 miles from where the incident happened. The 52 yr. old man obviously had issues. If he wanted to commit suicide, that's his choice but he didn't need to take an innocent life. I was agry about this shooting. He had only been with the department for a year. I think part of the problem was this man had been issued a sitation to clean up the debris from his backyard and had 8 days to do it. Still no valid reason to kill anyone.
Our middle daughter is a firefighter/paramedic. She would have been on the scene if she was working and had been in town. She was on vacation and out of state. Her department wouldn't have been the first department to be called but her co-workers were at the scene of the shooting all day. The heat index that day in Missouri was 105 degrees so it was a long, hot day for the other firefighters.
My deepest sympathy to Ryan's family. May be rest in peace.
