with prices being so high, do you buy cheaper cigarettes?

I quit smoking all together about 2 1/2 years ago...saves me a lot of money...not to mention I can breathe now.

i used to smoke, but not really a heavy smoker. i have quit for a long time already. so i guess i am no longer affected by the rising prices of cigarettes. at least that is just one thing that i don't have to worry about anymore. i think i have quit about 10 years ago already. or probably a little more.:) mine wasn't really an addiction, it was really to belong.

right now, i am more concerned with the rising prices of food and gasoline, because these the basic commodities. the things that i can do without, well i don't buy them anymore in order to save more.

My usual brand is Marlboros & sometimes I'll buy Carmels... I have tried generic brands & didn't mind them... I do find myself buying more & more of cheaper cigarettes... Some of them are pretty good, actually...

Yes, just a month ago a friend told me about a place she gets her cigerettes. I've been smoking Marlboro for 30+ years. I never liked the cheap brands, they tasted horrible, but what's worse is they hurt my chest.
I ordered one of the cheap brands thinking I'm not going to like it but I was pleasantly surprised. When I was making my order, I told the guy on the phone what I smoke and he said to try Seneca. He was right, it is very close to Marlboro and I'm paying $13.49 a carton.
While waiting for the cigerettes to be shipped, my husband bought me a pack of Marlboro and go thimself a generic brand and it cost him $12.00. Now I get 10 packs for slightly more, you can't beat that.

smoking or talking about smoking in public places is punishable.note that smoking is injurious to health.

Grow tobacco - its legal. Dry it and wrap it in a kind of paper that doesn't burn too fast. That's almost free.

Back at you and I am at an almost exploding level with the limitations now inflicted on smokers. I think the unspoken goal being played out is to get all smokers to quit. It is far too late to consider an outdated prohibition, don't you think?
The cheaper brands can be far less enjoyable but a smoke is a smoke, right.
The "black market" cigarette trade is booming because of the ghastly, tax laden costs on every back of cigarettes.
For the record, I will not quit smoking until I don't have to breathe the exhaust of SUV's or disel public transit.
Maybe try ordering some herbal cigarettes online if the smell is over powering. There is herbal cigarettes on a Canadian website...
It's all such a theatrical fiasco. If you want to smoke, you have that right until the laws take that away from you. Fight back against the tax hikes and unfairness what ever way you can.
Try surfing some of the Pro-Smoking sites to feel supported in your frustration.

I have been buying the cheaper brands also. I love Marlboro, but haven't been able to afford them in a long time. The generic brand I have been buying do seem rather harsh and I notice when my dad smokes them he is coughing a lot more. The last time I bought cigarettes, the lady at the store gave me a new pack of generics to try and they were good. They were smooth and not as harsh as the usual ones. i think when I go back, I will buy them.

I am too a smoker. As the prices cigarettes are going high, i'm decreasing cigarattes instead of buying cheaper brands. I use to smoke 10 cigarettes a day, now i decreased it to 8. I think it's better to decrease smoking instead of changing brands. If we smoke cheaper brands instead of regular brands our throat may get infected.
