Did you organize or join clubs when you were still in school?... |
|
If yes... what were they... clubs are a major part in a schools extra-curricular activities... some of them may boost the grade... but most of them are designed to cater to the needs and interests of students... I remember joining the book club when i was in high school... but it did not involve any reading or books but just a gathering of students who are like geeks... so i had to quit... i did not join anymore clubs... since in concentrated on military training... and that took a lot of my none academic time... In college... i joined the Cathechist Organizations... we went to public schools teaching children about Jesus Christ and the Bible... living in a predominantly Catholic country... we were always welcomed by parents, teachers, and school administrators... it was so much fun... and i even got to be President during my 3rd year in college... So how was your school club experience?...

1. agihcam (1108) | 1 month ago | There were fraternity clubs who are encouraging me to join with them, yet none of them convinced me since I will dis-obey my father doing so. But I do have club, this is all about group of karate people, our main task is to explode the arts and helps other youth to get away with prohibited drugs and join our club.

aseretdd (3646) | 1 month ago | Joining fraternities is discourage in schools nowadays... unless they are the ones that really help students learn more and help the society in general... i like your Karate club... that is a good way of helping the youth stay away from drugs or other bad habits... thanks for the response...

2. everlasting (9229) | 1 month ago | I am the class president while i was in college. Student activism was a craze then and i joined KM. I was really active then. martial law prevented students to form as groups and I joined underground groups to fight the dictatorship. name the mass action then, I was there. It was really so hard to organize groups then because many are afraid. as for the glee clubs and cutie cute clubs, i have no time for that because i have to maintin my grades so i will not be kicked out.

aseretdd (3646) | 1 month ago | Good thing you were still able to maintain your grades while participating in mass action against the government... i was very very young during that time... but i remember the tension before the first Edsa Revolution... thanks for the response...

3. gr8life (2689) | 1 month ago | Hello aseretdd, I was not active while studying in varsity. I didn't join any clubs but I was active in outdoor activities. Due to my science background, I used to camp and jungle trekking. I went to islands and jungles throughout Malaysia just to get my studies done. At the same time, I liked what I was doing - meeting new species, explored the jungle and camping! (Oh, yes! You are right. I don't like to study science!) I was even expelled (not the right word....I didn't get a place in a hostel for my second semester, first year due to not being active in any university clubs. (In fact, I was willingly request to stay with my sister without my father's consent) So, back to your discussion.... I don't have any good experience to share with others here about my club activities*sighs*

Expelled is a rather harsh word... but at least you were able to recover from that... thanks for the response...

5. EnslinPorter (366) | 1 month ago | Hi!:) Our school required students to join clubs...which they refer to as co-curricular clubs, from grade school to college for every semester/school year. There are lots of clubs and are moderated by teachers. I was in this school since kindergarten and have been to many clubs. I've been to Art, Folk Dance, Indoor Games, Table Tennis, and Computer Club during my Grade School years. It's funny that I forgot what club I was in during my first year high school. Maybe it didn't make too much impact on me that I forgot what it was. But from second year high school until college, I was in the campus paper as an artist. It was fun to see the progress of how a publication works and to see my works get published. The college years took its toll on me that I had to quit the publication. I had to study and we were going to classes 7 days a week. I had no choice but to quit. I wanted to contribute some things but really didn't have the time. Aside from it, I was also in a youth Christian community in school and I can't attend both at the same time. Overall, I had lots of fun with the clubs I was in and felt lucky to be in those. The unlucky ones would be those who weren't able to join clubs of interest because the maximum number of members has been reached or the clubs did not really interest them. Suddenly, I miss those years after typing them all here. I graduated recently and realized it's all in the past. How time flies by...

6. joliefille (1345) | 1 month ago | Since I liked English that time, I usually was in anything English-related. I wrote for the school paper a bit. Other than that, I didn't really joined that much in other organizations. I felt like I could not devote my time to a lot of school affiliations.

aseretdd (3646) | 1 month ago | Some students are not really into orgnizations or clubs... a lot tend to concentrate more on the academic side... or some would want to devote their free time on family life... but whatever the reason is... i think joining clubs are more of a choice and should not be forced upon... thanks for the response...

7. nengs10 (2711) | 1 month ago | I was very active in my extra curricular activities back then. I used to be join organizations and even organize anew. It was so great since I get to know several people in the campus. And having many peers will lessen all the worries you have with your homeworks, etc.

aseretdd (3646) | 1 month ago | I agree with you... i met a lot of students from other departments just by joining clubs... i did not want to limit myself within the four corners of the classroom... since there is a wider world out there in the campus... thanks for the response...

8. tomkite (528) | 1 month ago | i had no special talents to organize clubs or join clubs. i was too young.i concentrated mainly on studies.

| |
|
|
aseretdd (3646) | 1 month ago | I don't think that is possible... we all have a special talent or two... we only need to discover or tap them... maybe the clubs are not the right venue for you to hone your talents... but i am glad you were able to concentrate on your studies... thanks for the response...

tomkite (528) | 1 month ago | it s not easy at that young age. the subjects i had to study were hard . the final evaluation process is length. for instance,i was weak in maths and did not show any improvement. i had to take private tuitions and took 3 years to improve my maths skills.

|
|
aseretdd (3646) | 1 month ago | Oh... now i understand... studies should always come first... especially if a student is having a hard time in a particular subject... good thing you were able to cope up... even if it took you 3 years...
