cell phone tears me and my son apart

well i have cingular and usually phones like razors come free when you get a two year discount. or atleast theyre majorly discounted.if u cant do that then i would suggest maybe a pre paid phone...

Go to a different company, we are at verizon and get our phones for free or next to nothing. He does not need a razr and phones are not a fashion statement. I don't look at my phone. It is for function not fun.

less features means less worries......... and less phone use, and smaller bills, and usually these phones are free. you're his mom, not his friend. he won't judge you by how cool his phone is. less phone, phone features, gimmicks, internet, tv on your phone... means more focus where it belongs, means less likelihood of health issues (phones at a young age gotta be bad some how says pittsburgh cancer centre --google it as this service won't allow me to paste the link).

cell phones for a kid shouldnt have to break the bank or be super cool. the super cool phones encourage the kid to get a job and be independant. it's about communication. don't lose sight of that.

I would tell him this is what you can afford right now for aphone. Tell him you are very proud of his b's and a's and you kept your promise to get him a cellphone but this is all you can afford at this time. Tell him if he keeps his grades up you will try to do your best to afford a razr phone for him by Christmas time. if that's what he wants.
