I've been a fan of the comics industry, well the Japanese manga to put it correctly. But now, wnat I really wanted to read is a graphical novel. I think the difference about the two is that a graphical novel is, well, delivered on a novel kind of way, thick book, several chapters and whatnot. Comics is more of like the serialized one. So anyways, I hope you can recommend some good ones. Thanks for the time. Have a nice day(or night, wherever you are.)

Read "The Watchmen" by Alan Moore, that is the best one out there. I love that graphic novel.

Oh, many thanks to you. I've seen that already in the bookstore, but never have read it. It's kind of...pricey for me. Must earn more. Well, it's kind of a relief knowing that there's one here in the Philippines. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

think you need to know some of the history of comic books/ super heroes to really understand it.

Agreed, but even if you do not know the full history of comics, there are still some things in this graphic novel that you will get. If you know history in general, you should be able to understand this graphic novel, but it does help to know comic book history.

V For Vendetta for politics and fantasy. (Alan Moore again same as Watchmen - his other epic imho) Maus for something serious & factual - it's a (auto)biographical account of a man's difficult relationship with his father and his fathers memories of being an Holocaust survivor. http://www.shvoong.com/f/humanities/437144-maus/
