why is it that when a child throws a tantrum in public, like a store or the park, everyone looks. Is it out of curiosity or is it a natural reaction to make sure that the child is ok and that nothing bad is going on?

It is a very embarassing moment when the toddler decides to go bananas in the shopping mall!!I know from experience that you sometimes wish that the ground would just open up and swallow you!!but at tleast by watching what is going on around you ,you know that you arent the only one thats going through the same thing!you just have to try to silence the yelling in some way!!and it gets to a point when everyone is turning to stare at you that you would give absolutely anything for the sound of silence!!I remember my niece was a real drama queen ,andse used to have super sized tantrums!!major ones, whre she would lay on the floor and kick and scream and there was nothing but nothing that would silence her!!so my sister really had to resort,,rightly or wrongly to some form of bribery..and it was usually in the shape of a chocolate bar,or a sweety, and then she at last went silent and we all got some peace!

After I read this post I had to stop and think about it a second. I look to see what the child is doing while Its making all that noise. Are they kicking, stomping, throwing themselves in the floor? And my first thought is 'escort that child into the nearest bathroom stall and smack their butts'
