Should They Make The Driving Test Harder For Girls ?

The majority opinion of male drivers is that guys are better drivers than girls. Because we all drive on the same roads, should they have a female driving test which is harder and more detailed, so that girls have to prove themselves to be capable ?

No i dont' think the driving test should be any different for women. And I don't think guys are better drivers either. Only from experience, I have been in one accident that was not my fault I was rear ended. And my husband has been in more accidents than me and they were all his fault because he was the one doing the rear ending lol. So I would have to say woman are better drivers than men. Men tend to think they are driving race cars all the time, and hate to share the road that is why they cause so many accidents.

Yes, I agree, but the accident I had was not my fault he hit me and I was already stopped and he was looking at his kids in the back seat and did not see I was stopped for a car that stopped in front of me.

Fair comment. May I respectfully add that it does take two to have an accident and it is extremely rare to find that one person out of the two was blameless.

You do not have to justify yourself to me, or anyone else - I am no judge I can assure you, and the text I enter is not necessarily my own opinion. Thanks for your comments.

My own opinion has already been published in myLot recently. This subject was a debate held in a local pub by a large group of men and women.

Your putting me on right? You can't possibly be serious! When men learn to put down the toilet seat, then we'll talk about making a driving tests harder for womem. I don't know where some of these ideas come from...Oh wait a minute, men lol Have good day.

I'm not 'putting you on' as you say, and yes - I am serious. This debate actually happened. My personal opinion is irrelevant here, however, yours is very relevant and quite forceful. Good comment! Thanks.

I don't think harder tests are needed. I think if anything girls might get distracted more easily but I don't know that boys are better drivers than girls. I might agree that men tend to be better than women. But boys or girls when young all tend not to take driving seriously enough. What ever the case, we here in Fl. have a lot of bad drivers!! I'm a women and consider myself to be a better driver than most men I see on the road. I guess it's a matter of opinion. leenie

Thanks Leenie, A good fair comment I thought, well balanced and un-bias. However, statistically in many, if not most countries, vehicle insurance companies seem to favour girls because they tend to have less accidents.

Gran You are right. They do favor girls. I think that women tend to be more cautious and in turn tend to drive too slow, causing more a a hazard than a caution. On the other hand, men do like their speed for the most part. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. I have a little bit of a lead foot but keep close eye on the mirrors. Something I was taught many years ago in my School bus training. Safe driving. leenie
