Red bull and kick for kids??!! |
|
This really does make me cross, my son had a friend over today and they both went swimming on the way back my sons friend bought '10' cans of kick from tesco, he's only 10 himself. I think its disgusting that with all the knowledge we have that shops are able to sell these stimulant drinks to kids, all that sugar and caffiene why would any parent allow their children to drink it?? why why why, wheres the sense...i could really rant on this subject cos it makes me so angry

1. momathome (229) | 3 months ago | I know here my son can't go in to the store anymore and by those energy drinks. He used to be able to but not anymore. He's 13. I don't think kids should be buying them anyway. So it's good now they have to be 18 here to buy them. But some stores do still sell them to younger kids even though they are not supposed to .

2. gingisnapz (646) | 3 months ago | You've asked a really good question because I see kids running around all of the time with these things. I live in a small town and the stores let kids of all ages get away with them. I wish the retailers would also ban kids from buying them in my area. I'm sure that a lot of parents wouldn't have a problem with that. It would be crazy if any of them did. I'm sure they don't want their kids bouncing off the walls unable to go to sleep. Then again, there are some parents who just don't care.

3. pukaprat2 (206) | 3 months ago | i remember when i was younger there was a drink called Joltz- i dont know if you remember it but it was twice the caffinee of any coffee or soda. - well now a days there are those drinks that are like tripple or 4x the amount of a soda. my theory is this: let them drink it and crash hard. with the headache and all. you cant hold your childs hand all the time. and besides maybe they will get the hint that it causes side effects. as well as they are hyper and run around crazy like then pass out. there couldnt be anything wrong with it. however i do think that the company needs to put an age limit on it say 13 or so. because some people out there are working to help their parents and such. so they might need a little pick me up. personally i find it funny since there is other bigger problems to worry about then how much caffine your child is consuming. my question is though how many times do you feed your child fast food? do you count calories for your child? do you let them have a soda a day? do you let them have dessert? you cant say one thing is bad and say other is okay-

twilight_75 (291) | 3 months ago | My kids have a well rounded diet, their all a healthy wieght and are active kids, not bouncing off walls etc. These drinks are not for kids, kids do not need them, too much of a stimulant can cause heart palpations not to mention too much sugar leading to diabeties, rotting their teeth. There are bigger problems to worry about granted, but that doesn't mean things like this should be ignored. There is an awful lot wrong with your reasoning in my view.

4. walijo2008 (1559) | 3 months ago | I know what you mean, I have a nephew that's always trying to buy the Monster drink, he's only 11, I told him no way, that stuff isn't for kids. It says right on the can, Not Recommended for Kids. He says he drinks it sometimes, but he doesn't need it, he has enough energy for 5 ppl. I don't think they should be selling it to kids either, it makes no sense, its a grown up drink. Even I don't touch the stuff..lol.
