Apart from the fact that some cartons (Not Tom and Jerry) shows cats and dogs playing together, have you ever seen those two animals been together?
I think they are just made like that, they never wanted to stay together or play together! If you see anywhere where these two animals play together, one of them is definitely sick.

Yes I have seen a dog and a cat play together. I have 5 dogs and a cat. The dogs are a 9 mo.old german shepard, 3 rat terriers, one of the three is mixed with chihuahua, and the last one is a new addition, he is a stray that we picked up from a dirt road last week. My cat is also a stray that i picked up when he was a baby wander the streets in the cold so I took him in. Ever since then he and my rat terrier/chihuahua have been great friends. They play together and sleep together and even eat together. My cat likes dog food and no they are not sick in any way they are just friends.

I had a dog who absolutly loved cats. He followed them around wanting to play all the time. Evrn when we would be walking around in public. His tail would wag whenever he smelled a cat in a tree or under a car. Usuly he got a scratch on the nose.

I had a cat once who thought she was a dog because she was dumped on our property at a very young age and my momma dog adopted her as one of her own. She hung out and played with all three dogs all of the time. Now I have only her daughter and another cat who have both been raised around dogs but I have a different dog who doesn't have too much experience with cats. Every once in awhile my younger cat will try to play with the dog but she usually just barks at the cat and leaps around like a nut. She seems to be enjoying herself though.
