Has anybody heard of this style of cooking eggs, and what do you call it?

Okay, you do it like this:
Cut a hole in the middle of a piece of bread. Melt a pat of butter in a pan, put the bread in the pan. Crack an egg, pour the egg into the hole in the middle of the bread. Cook for about a minute, flip to cook the other side. Whenm done you've got an egg cooked in the middle of a piece of toast (or, grilled bread.)
If you know what I'm talking about, what do you CALL THIS where you live? It's got about a hundred different names depending on where you live, but I myself had never even heard of it until a friend of mine from another state told me about it. He grew up in Louisiana and he calls it Gashouse Eggs. Anybody else?

My friend from LA lives in Texas now, he might have gotten the name Gashouse Eggs there, but he says it was a comfort food when he was a kid. I'll ask him. But I have heard Frog in the Hole, I looked it up on the net and there's like a hundred different terms for it! I'm just curious to see how many different ones people here mention.

I have also heard the term that the user below answered. I can't imagine eggs as comfort food though. I grew up right outside of New Orleans so my idea of comfort food usually involves fried stuff

Sounds wonderful but I have never had the pleasure of trying it. I should tell my wife to cook me up some of these. Cheers!!

I saw this on a cooking show once and I think they called it Welsh Rarebit! We eat this ourselves sometimes and it's really tasty!
