My Pick for Obama  |

 Ok, first and foremost, I do not plan on voting for Senator Obama, however using my experience and in the interest of fairness I am presenting my final choice for his VP slot.
Senator and former Indiana Governor Evan Bayh.
Evan Bayh, the junior Senator and former Indiana governor brings many different facets to the Obama ticket. First and foremost, it gives Obama a firm foothold in foreign policy. Secondly, he puts Indiana back into play. Bayh is still immensely popular with the Hoosiers and his name on the ticket could carry the state for a D for the first time since LBJ.
Bayh brings with him also a shred of hope for the Clinton followers. Bayh was the chair for Clinton's victory in Indiana, and was often vocal on his support for her. His place on the ticket may bring some Clintonites back to Obama.

1.  anniepa (9274) | 1 year ago |  I've got to be honest here, when I saw your subject for this discussion I really expected it to be a post loaded with sarcasm because why would someone who is so opposed to Obama really write a post that would be a serious assessment of who hew should choose as VP? I see you really are quite serious here and I must admit, you've made some good points here. It will be interesting to see who Obama does pick but I understand Bayh is one of the final three, if any of those reports are accurate.

2.  flpoolbum (493) | 1 year ago |  I think that Senator Obama should think outside of the "box" of the usual candidates for Vice President and choose someone who is experienced in Politics(who works behind the scenes), in public service and public speaking and would be one of the most well known and highly regarded people in the country. My choice for Senator Obama's running mate is CAROLINE KENNEDY.
Caroline Kennedy is an attorney and a co-author of "The Right to Privacy" and "In Our Defense: The Bill of Rights in Action". From 2002-2004, she served as Chief Executive for the Office of Strategic Partnerships for the New York City Department of Education where she helped to raise more than $65 million in private support for the city's public schools. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of
The Fund for Public Schools.
Ms. Kennedy is the President of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and is a member of the John F. Kennedy Profile In Courage Award Committee. She is a Director of the Commission on Presidential Debates, and the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, and serves as Honorary Chairman of the American Ballet Theater.

Her family's experience in politics and the influential people and World Leader's that they know (along with the Kennedy family political machine) would be a great asset to her, to the Obama campaign and the Obama administration. She would be a great deal of assistance in campaigning for the crucial Women's vote and (those of us who were supporters and fans of the Late President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy). Support from these groups would be very beneficial to the Obama campaign. Besides, the Republican's wouldn't have any basis to attack her.
AMERICA NEEDS CHANGE NOW! We need to heal the nation and provide hope for the 90% of American's who have been forgotten by the Bush Administration.

I respect everything Kennedy has done, but I don't believe she has the experience to truly be capable of the job or to take the Presidency should something catastrophic happen.

According to the latest polls, Indiana is already "in play", it seems; right now it's a statistical tie, with Obama ahead by 1%:
