The reason I'm asking this question is because this weekend coming up I have to make stuffed peppers for my residents at the retirement home that I work at. The thing is I make mine different from the way the other cook does, and she has been there 30 years. I make mine the way my mom used to make them. The other cook uses tomato sauce with her hambuger rice mixture, and I don't. I like to chop onion and green pepper with my hamburg and mix the rice in, instead of sauce I use canned tomatoes. I also top them with mozzerella cheese, she does to. I looked up stuffed peppers today on the recipe site today, and it seems there are many ways to make them. So how do you make your stuffed pepper?, because she looked at me like I had 2 heads when I told her how I make mine.

I remember when my mom made stuffed peppers or stuffed cabbage she would use tomato sauce. Canned tomatoes sound yummy too. I need to try that. Good luck with the peppers.

Thanks, not only is the other cook set in her ways, so are some of the residents that have lived there a long time, and they can be fussy...

Haven't made them in a while, but I use ground beef, garlic, onions or onion soup mix, cooked rice, I like your idea of canned tomatoes instead of sauce, sometimes i may put in a little bread crumbs. It's just a basic recipe. I like to use red peppers sometimes instead of green. I'm sure that the residents of the retirement home will like your's just as well as the other cook. Hope they come out okay. You made me hungry.

Ya know I was thinking about red peppers, but first I want to see if they like the way I make then, then the next time I will try the red peppers. Your recipe sounds really good! I will have to try it at home, I love trying new things.

I start out with browning my grown beef, add tomato sauce, then add rice to the pan and cook it. I also add onion and the pepper tops. I then take my peppers and blanch them. While the stuffing is cooking. I will also add a can of corn to the mix and garlic, onions and spices. I then stuff the peppers and the left over stuffing I put around the peppers so they stand up and bake until brown. I will put parmazone cheese on top of the peppers.
