Can you live without electricity?if can how long time?

Amish can do that very well, and may be soon als we think we also have to do it

I am pretty addicted to my electric life, TV, radio, lights, stove, so many things but if it all stopped tomorrow I would pick up my fishing gear, my guitar, my wife of course and I would head out into the wilderness to get back to nature.

The only thing keeping me around town is basically all connected to electricity.

I do admit I would likely do a lot of complaining before leaving for who knows where.

i can't imagine if there is no electricity in my life. how can i going on internet, how can i life without watch tv or listening to the music..? i thing impossible for me.

I live in Florida so we deal with bug storms and, sometimes power loss as a result. After Hurricane Wilma went through we were without power for about four days and that changed our lives drastically. Our battery powered radio became our best friend, providing us with a constant stream of information along with a little bit of entertainment. Fortunately, this storm came through in October so we didn't have to deal with a lot of heat but it was still fairly uncomfortable. For the most part, without electricity we were pretty bored and going into town just to see who we could run into was the highlight of our day.

Hurricane Ivan knocked our power out for two weeks. The only electricity that we had was from the generator, and we plugged all of the refrigerators into it so that the food would not spoil. Our house completely ran by electricity (our current runs on gas and electricity) and so we took cold showers. We were able to cook some things out on the grill, but we were able to get MREs and we ate those for a while.

I'm really pissed off when there is no eletricity, given that everything I do everyday depends on electricity. But then, when the lights are out, I can just sit back, relax, and reflect on things that I often forgot when I'm in front of the computer. So it's irritating, but rewarding too. Talk about being positive.

That would be hard... We always use the television and the electric fan, esp. the kids. I also use the computer to do some work in school and to surf the net. We have tried to experience a day without electricity and we couldn't stand it! I can't imagine another day without electricity again...

i can live with if for like 2 hours maybe. haha! it is very hot here in the Philippines especially during lunch time onwards and i can't live without an electric fan or an aircon. i would be bathing on my sweat and that is gross!! really really gross!!1 if that happens, i would certainly be jumping off to our pool shouting out loud "geronimo!!!" teehee..

i don't think i can live without it because electricity is very important in our lives. water wont run through our faucets if we don't have it right? there would no internet connections that connects us to our family or relatives far across other countries.

if the electricity is out, normally i would lay in my bed and get a paper fan and provide myself with air.. and that would be a very tiring work if ill be doing that the whole day...

This is world is running with two important things.One is gifted by nature and one is discovered by a human. The first one is a great Gift from Mother Nature which is water. And the second one which is discovered by a human is Electricity.these are two essential things for a human survival. If one vanishes from this that is either water or electricity then it will be practical Hell on Earth.Hence,I cannot live with out electricity.

In 1999 October there happened a super cyclone continuously for three days nonstop with incessant rains which caused sever damage to communications,electricity,tele-communications.about 10,000 people died and some lakhs of animals washed away.During the hurricane the electricity gone and the telephone lines disconnected.the mobile phones could not be charged as there was no electricity.virtually our city was cut off from outside world.the electricity resumed service after nine days and telephone lines charged after sixteen days.Imagine how we managed these nine days thanx.without electricity,telephones and water supply.
