THere is nothing that we can do lol except get the candles out and sit tight until the power comes back on!but it is frustrating when we lose our power, but look how lucky we are to have it in the first place, there are many countries that dont have any power at all,and they cope well enough,so im sure that we will be able to cope for a few hours.

We kind of like it, as long as it's not all night cause then yeah the heat will be too much for us to try and sleep. But just for a few hours, it can be fun. We get out board games, tell stories or just set there watching the weather pass and enjoying the silence.
Last time we had a power outage, when the power came back on the girls (9 & 11) were sad about it, LOL. We had just started playing hide and seek in the dark with them.

Hmmm so romantic. We used to be like that in olden days. I really miss those days.
Thank you for making my memories fresh again.

I have mixed emotions about it. I both find it sort of fun and like a little adventure but, then again, I can find it a problem when I can't do things like watch TV, cook, get online or see without a candle if it is dark outside. I do think it can be a little romantic though when you need candlelight to see anything. And, not just one little candle will do it. When it happens at night, I grab every candle I can find and just start lighting them. And, since I love decorative candles as well as scented ones, I have tons and my house soon smells so beautiful and is so romantically lit. Who doesn't love that? LOL!
But, then again, it also depends on the outside temp. It can either get too hot or too cold inside depending on what time of the year it is. I live in the U.S. down south where it gets really hot so, in the summer, if the power goes out, we better find a pool to hang out in until the power comes back on or we will likely have heat exhaustion or worse. And, it does get cold in the south too...yes...I know what cold feels like since I am originally from the Midwest. So, if it happens in the winter, that can be a problem too.
Otherwise, I kind of like it but, the longer it lasts, the fun of it can start to wear off.

Thats cool but dont you get bored when you stay for long in the mall. I go out for a drive at times and get involved with other work. I hate power failure.
Ok cheers hope things get easier.

Hi there shiloh_222!
I hate it when there is a power outage. I hate it more when it happens when there is a storm. Because you can't go out and you can't do much indoors without power. However, at times, I see this as a good opportunity to do other things that I can actually do even without power. But when I am in the mood for online activities and the power suddenly just goes off? Geez! I would definitely go ballistic!

We just had a power outage last week due to storms. For some it was as long as four days. It was frustrating due to the fact that my job is on line and I needed the income. Otherwise, it wasn't too bad. The food in the refrigerator and freezer had to be thrown out. I had to buy clothesline and pins because I had wet clothes in both the washer and dryer when the power went out. I enjoyed hanging the clothes on the line, except for the towels which felt like boards. Candles were nice, but total darkness was scary. I have a gas stove, so cooking was not a problem. I only missed the tv because of not being able to hear the news and weather. Not being able to run a fan or air conditioner and not being able to refrigerate the food were the main drawbacks. Otherwise, it was not so bad.

I'd be OK as long as my computer still has batteries, but when it's time to turn it off then I start going crazy LOL! If I have my Nintendo DS, then I would feel much better, but lately the blackouts seem to come more often and my brother has my DS with him at university, so I pretty much just act crazy until the lights go on again LOL!

i'm in the philippines and power failure here is no big deal. the problem is i know that power failures in other countries is a great, great deal. they go berserk and even think of a terrorist possiblity of an attack. that's why i go berserk when that happens here in the philippines. i mean what do other countries have that we, paying consumers here in the philippines, just take for granted power faiures here? can't we up our standards at least in the service power companies provide? aren't meralco maintencance enough? i hope they don't reason trees blocking or affecting the power lines since i really would go berserk. don't other, non-maintenance meralco employees, pass this same way everyday?
