I can only hope and pray that those "not yet born relatives" will get to be born. I think people today will be viewed by those to come by how many children are murdered before they are born.

Deinitely something to think about. I have certain challenges that would make some think that I am unfortunate. I don't feel unfortunate living in Canada, but were I in Nazi Germany, I would have been set to the gas chambers!

in a liberal view yes that is true, and that would make all rich nations, rotten for not being just with poor and downtrodden in our societies, I do agree with that principal. because actually very few countries would make the grade, america would not be one of them, canada might and england, but the only place that would make the grade would be finland, switzerland and maybe sweden but that is it.

I think if it's not judged by how it treats the less fortunate than it should be. I think that no good society will have people starving on the streets or dying because they can't get basic health care. If you measure goodness by these measures, I'm sorry to say that America comes up short. We are the only developed country with no national health care plan. We previously had company in this non-desirable category but it was South Africa during apartheid. Hardly the company we want to keep. At least, I would hope not. Hopefully, the healthcare reform will go a long way towards making things a bit more equitable.
