| | Why don't you just keep your dog on a leash in the yard? It's not really fair to your neighbours that your dog can run on their property, scare their kids and crap on their lawns. Even if your dog is 100% trained to stay on the property, it is still not fair for your dog to be off a leash if there is no way to gate the dog in. However, it's your dog and your neighbours and if they are ok with your dog being off a leash where their kids are playing then i guess shock collaring him wouldn't hurt to train him. | | | | | | | i_luv_music (132)

| | okay well we do usually keep her on a leash when we take her outside. but she stays in a pin during the day time and in the later in the day we take her inside. and during the time she's inside we take her out to walk on a leash when she needs to go outside. then back inside. and over and over agian. but every know and then she runs out the door when we open it. so we dont let her out without a leash. on less she is in the pin. | | | | liltunergirl (401)

| | Oh well if she's usually in a pen or on a leash then I wouldn't worry too much about the few times she gets loose. The shock collar is not a bad idea to train her that if she gets loose to not go off the property but if it doesn't happen often then why worry too much about it. | | | | | | | Ask a Dog Vet Online Now 8 Veterinarians Are Online! | | I have two miniature poodles and my worst nightmare is losing them. So I took them to the vet to get micro chipped. Then a machine can read their numbers and this information is linked with my name and address. So any vet could find out my dogs names and where they have come from if they ever get lost. It is a good idea to put your name, address and telephone number on a disk around your dog's collar. It is important that your dog is prevented from getting out of your yard. I have a wooden fence and gate. I think that shock collars are cruel and could make your dog nervous as well as upset. Getting fencing for your yard and getting information on Angel's collar would be most helpful to you. Good luck. | | | | | | | | | | Homestead® Websites Build & own a website in minutes. | | Did you have to use a shock collar for that? I know that you had to train her to say in the yard but what happens when you take the collar off her? Shes so little and I think that it to much for her to have to go through. I mean would you like to get shocked like that to say in the yard? I know it's for her own good but she's so cute in the picture that I had to say something. Get rid of the collar. | | | | | | | | | | Puppy Loves A Deal Pet stores, doggy day care & more regularly featured at 50-90% off! www.Groupon.com/Sign-Up | add comment | | | |

| | Hi i_luv_music, Shock collars...NO, NO, NO! I happened to be at a babecue and the owners had two beautiful dogs that they had in the house penned up while company was there...at one point they needed to go outside and I wittnessed how they used the shock collar...the poor dogs were shakeing and it seemed like they were in pain :-( My daughters and I own an 85 pound Pit Bull and 4 cats, yeah 4! Many times we have to take her out a zillion times cause she'll ask to go out...we also have a runner in our yard and we do put her on it but she is never, never alone!! The reason? I just bought a home in a not-so-good area...fell in love with the house and with the depressed area...I work for the community and the state and my mission is to help people with whatever I can...I yet don't have a fence...but people, neighbors, don't seem to care about others...there are dogs running in, out and around our yard constantly...big dogs that bite and rummage through garbage and I really don't want them near our dog who is well taken care of and loved...my daughter was entertaining the thought of the shocker...That was a Big NO, no ifs, ands, or buts!! I think shockers are cruel punishment...when people choose to be pet owners they must remember that animals have feeling too and they are almost like people...they should be treated with kindness and respect and under any circumstances, NO SHOCKERS, period. Oh, by the way, your doggie runs out when the door is opened, just be careful and don't let him or her out...my cats, well one of them, always trys to get out and sometimes succeeds but I or my daughters immediately get her back in the house!! Please, please do not use the shocker...think of it this way, would you like to be wearing a shocker? I don't think so. Stay cool, stay well and never, never stress. ~G~ | | | | | | | | | | Potty Training a Dog We have the solution. It's fast and easy! www.ModernPuppies.com | add comment | | | |

| | I have heard of the shock collars. The name sounds harsh but the only options would be, putting the dog in a cage tying the dog on a long chain fixing the fence letting the dog run around the neighbourhood or the nasty sounding shock collar. Dogs don't belong in cages Dogs could get themselves tangled with long chains fixing up a fence is good but what happens if the dog always finds a way to escape. If the dog is running around the neighbourhood there is another fear other than going to the pound. What happens if some one else likes the dog and takes it home to keep. The shock collar eliminates all of the above. Yes, it does sound nasty but I have seen reports that shock collars are good. Have you ever walked around and touched something and got a little shock? That is all it is. Dogs will learn. It has been recommended by a vet. Also if it does harms the dog, then why is the product on sale? Ok, final word, shock collar does sound nasty, but if it does work, then go for it. You do what you feel is right. Then I ask you to come back after period of time to tell us how it is all going. I think it will work. | | | | | | | | | | Designer Dog Dresses Huge Selection Of Designer Dog Dresses. ALL10% OFF & FREE SHIPPING! www.MarilynMuttroe.com | add comment | | | |
