I can hardly call her my "baby" anymore because she turned 8 today, but she is my youngest daughter so I guess that means she'll always be the baby girl!So 8 years ago at this time, I was still at home. Hubby knew I was in labor but wanted to eat first...LOL I said fine but I'm not fixing it! He pulled out a frozen dinner thing and asked if he should microwave it (10-12 minutes) or bake it in the oven (45-48 minutes)...and yes I remember the exact times because it was so comical at the time. Anyway, he ate and we loaded up in the car to drop the older 2 off at my moms. It was a Tuesday and our little girl was born at 10:05pm weighing 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 19 inches long, just a bit bigger than her big sister had been. She had tiny little curls...more like wiggly lines, across her head. Here's a more recent picture of her. She loves being in front of the camera and her dad sends me new ones constantly.

Thanks! She loves being in front of the camera and she's got really long legs already and her dad is 6 feet tall so who knows maybe we have a future model! I can't believe it's almost school time again! Altogether I'll have one in 7th, 4th, 3rd, and kindergarten...s/o has a junior in HS.

I wish...only the 3 little ones live with us so we'll only be seeing the kindergartener off to school. The others live with their other parents because...well because life sucks sometimes.

Happy Birthday to your daughter! I remember when my son was 8 and still my baby. He is 16 now. It's just not the same. I miss the days when he was younger. Although it's cool watching him learn and grow into an adult.

We are very lucky, our son is a great kid. We have none of the usual teenage problems. We may have eventually, but so far so good..lol.

Happy Birthday Kate! It is amazing how fast they grow up. I could swear my stepson was just that age a minute ago. Enjoy it while you can. Are you doing anything special? How can men be so silly? My grandfather went and played golf while my grandmother was having my dad. I don't know how she didn't brain him with a frying pan!

LOL yeah men are silly....with our son born two years earlier, the second he got told I was in labor he told his supervisor and left work...without waiting for his dad to finish telling him that I was fine and did not need him to rush home yet. So I was at the back of the house having a nice relaxing bath when he came barreling in the door. I swear he thought I was going to deliver in the bath tub! I guess he figured the second time around he could take his time. I didn't have a way to get over to see her today but hopefully can on Sunday...she did cake and presents and went out for a birthday dinner tonight though.

Happy birthday to your Kate! I hope she is enjoying her day! My youngest just turned 8 years old last month. Both he and his brother are still my babies and most likely they always will be even when they are all grown up. I think most parents are the same way when it comes to their kids. I know my mom still calls me her baby and I'm 33 years old!

She had fun...I talked to her but didn't get to go see her (no vehicle and all that ) but I'll be able to go over for a little bit Sunday I think. Anyway, she had a cake and presents and a special birthday dinner out. All of mine will probably stay my babies long into adulthood too...I forget that we have kids close in age!

I keep forgetting that you have daughters. I was a little confused when I first saw this discussion. My son turned 8 in January. I tell him all the time that he is my baby boy. He is not a baby anymore, but he will always be my baby boy. Happy Birthday Kate!

LOL...it's alright, I'm sure you weren't the only one confused. The little boys are with me all the time so of course I talk about them more. I forget that you have an older boy sometimes too.

Your daughter shares a birthday with my eldest son!! He turned 9 on the first of August.... I still always call him my baby and he goes mad... but I always tell him that even when he is 17, 40, or even 50 years old he will always be my baby!!!! I hope you enjoyed your day with loads of celebrations as we did, and I wish your daughter a belated ~*~*HAPPY BIRTHDAY*~*~
