I have this bad habit of smoking which I return to it after 7 years of quitting, I always smoke my cigarettes in the living room which I have my laptop there and work on the net, by the time the smell of the living room is full of the cigarette smell, I do open the windows in the morning and try to change the air, and try try to use some air perfumes, but it is not work, because I keep smoking there.

Any way to rid of this smell?

i think all the furniture have the same smell of the cigarettes.

You can burn scented candles or incense. Frebreez is go on household odor as well.
If you have carpeting, next time you vaccum you should sprinkle baking soda first and let stand for about 20 minutes. Take the cushions off of your sofa and chairs and bring them outside to air out.
These tips should help some. happy

Hi alkurishy,

I smoke as well but what I do is burn some incense sticks around the room for a few days that will help.

Think of your children.. How they would be affected due to cigarette smoking.. and try to reduce your smoking or try to smoke elsewhere..where it wont affect your children.
Or maybe you can try giving it up altogether..

hi there
i use a product called "home sweet home - neutralises pet odours" put out by an australian company "vitapet".
this can be used indoors/outdoor.
- removes pet,tobacco & alcohol odours,
- it is instantly efffective,
- non toxic & long lasting.
on the back it says that the unique formular doesn't just mask the smell but neutralise them instantly.
basically you spray & go as the smell is gone & leaves the room smelling fresh & clean.
- atacks & neutralises odours,
- freshens the home & bedding,
- removes pet,tobacco & alcohol odours,
- recommended for use in hospitals, home & hostels,
- unique formular lasts for hours,
- non toxic & biodegradable.

made in the good old U.S.A. for vitapet austrailia.
i can say that i would reccomend the use of it & that it does work in my home here & one of the hospital rest homes i worked in used it & we found that it was brilliant to say the least.
here in NZ we can get it @ our local supermarket & of course in @ the local vets as well.

You can get upholstery cleaner for the furniture. My husband only smokes outside so we don't have this problem.

If you don't want the smell stay in your living room, you'd probably want to do it outside the house happy That's the only suggestion I could give you.

Happy mylotting and have a nice day!!

Why return to same old bad habit?Anyways,if you are sensitive to incense which i also suggest.Maybe you can try one i used during my 2nd pregnancy----loli hate all smell except apple and orange or any citrus. This may be costly,i kept a boiling pot of water with apples and oranges inside.Just let it boil or simmer,it does give the trick on my nosehappy-that should at least help reduce the smell.I would also suggest you stop smoking...so you won't have problem with the cigar smelling environment/househappy.----for your family's sake stop it.

I am sorry to hear that you ended up smoking again and the only things I can suggest is get some Frebreeze and spray it on the fabrics that smell like cigarette smoke, and you could also trying getting smoke out candle,my mom has one in mine and my fiances bathroom because if my brother spends the night he usually smokes in the bathroom and it seems to be very good about eliminating the smoke odor.

You really should just smoke outside, or at least in the doorway.

It's not good for you at all to keep the windows shut and breathe recycled smoke and carbon dioxide. I mean, obviously it's bad to smoke snyway, but I smoke and know I won't be quitting any time soon.

I just make sure I stand at the back door so the smoke goes outside thumbup
