What to Add...

Okay, anyone can help me out with this--whether you can draw or not.
I am working on a picture, and I have a lot of room left on the picture, and I'm not sure what to do with it. Right now I have a brown horse (which is suppose to be a police horse) staring down at a gravestone, which has a cop hat on top. And you see half of the words on the stone...You see "peace" for the end of rest in peace, you see the end of the word "father" and you see 004, which is of course for "2004." And dug into the ground right above the grave is a little American flag.
What I want to know is what else I can do with this picture to make it complete...right now it doesn't seem complete to me, it seems like it's missing something.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello!
Hmm... You were very creative on the creation of this picture. It really must be beautiful. Now, if you feel like there is something missing, you could put a little girl holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand, and in the other hand you could put her holding the rope coming from the horse. I don't know the name of that rope. Why? It would give the idea that the little girl is the policeman's daughter. And she has only the horse now for her, like if the horse was her best friend. It would be even more amazing! Only a suggestion, perhaps you do not like the idea.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

I actually really do like the idea. I will have to restart it completely to do this, but I'm probably going to start over anyways lol. I think adding a child in the picture will have such a huge impact!
Thank you very much munhozmib!

Why are you having to restart it? Have you done something wrong?

Well the way I already have it drawn, I couldn't add the little girl holding the horses reins.
But I'm getting so many good ideas I might have to do a few versions of this drawing! lol. I could add a light rain to the one I have now...do one of a close up on horses head and gravestone like I said above, and then the idea you gave me! lol. I'll have to see if I'm up to that :P

Hi Lily!
Ok if I may pass on to you something my mother has passed on to me.. I do alot of artwork, not as much anymore.. wish I did.. But anyway.. what My mom told me was that if you are not satisfied with anything you create.. maybe you overworked it, just doesn't look right.. etc. She told me to hold it up in front of a mirror and look at it, you will see what others are seeing.. an artists eye views things differently... I have used this "technique" quite a few times.. Art comes from your heart.. try this.. Let me know if it helps!
It truly sounds like a nice piece of work!

Thanks for the idea nan, I never thought of that. There was something I really wanted to do with it, but I made one small mistake so I can't do it anymore x.x
I was going to draw the horse holding a white glove in his teeth, from a cops dress uniform...but I accidently drew a line over where i needed the teeth, so it looked like his mouth was closed...DOH! lol. I was maaaAaaad at me :P lol.
If I talk myself into it enough I might redue the picture on a larger piece of paper, and this time include the glove! It was a really important part of the picture to me.

LOL! Yeah I did answer my own question :P But then I started thinking, even with the glove there will be a lot of empty paper. Which made me think maybe I should draw it close up on just the horses head (holding glove) and the tombstone. Just have that be on the whole paper, then it would be filled up, but not cluttered.
This picture is not for any paritcular i know, but I do have a lot of respect for police officers. I'm also thinking about doing pictures for soldiers and firemen, each would have a different animal.
Thank you very much nanciem!

Hey Lil... DUH you have answered your own question! You have just said that that glove was an important part of your picture for yourself... If I may be invasive.. does this artwork reflect anyone in particular you know? Maybe someone who has passed, has not and you have alot of respect for.. I believe our true hearts are expressed through our art, expression, wether it be by pencil, paint, charcoal, or computer.. art is what you feel! The medium is just a place to store it ;)
I often feel the need to Gear myself up to express my thoughts on paper.. but please, please follow through with your art, your thoughts.. you have a talent.., you have a voice piece , don't let that go!... try the mirror.. trust me!

No flowers on the grave. I wanted there to only be the american flag on the grave. The horse has nothing on it. I was going to do him with a saddle and the backwards boots, but that got really complicated and I was getting stressed/mad at myself :P lol. That happens a lot when I draw, I'm a perfictionist when it comes to my pictures-I see all the tiny mistakes. I wanted the one gravestone just to emphasize the cop's sacrifice.
Thanks Elic!

How is the weather in the picture? Cloudy, sunny? Does your graveyard have trees? ARe you going to frame or mat the pictures, that takes room, too? Take care

I did not have any kind of weather drawn. But someone suggested rain and I might try that. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the picture (framed or matted), haven't thought about it.
