It's already August and you're doing the back to school shopping so have you started to thing about Fall itself. The summer being over, Labor Day will be here, leaves turning color, fall arriving, holidays... I know I'm going to fast...Well has anyone started to think about it?

No, not really. It was 105 degrees yesterday and fall doesn't seem to mean much to me right now. Even as we get into September it is going to be hot hot hot. And and long as it is so hot, my mind isn't into fall mode. Although maybe once school starts again for everyone it will start to feel different.

It will still be summer for a long time yet here in the desert, or at least it typically is. The calendar may say it is Fall but the temperatures here often say it is still Summer, which is great for me. I try not to think about Autumn too much because then I will start to think about Winter which I dislike

Yes a matter of fact, I have already been thinking about the winter. I don't like the summer anymore because it gets way too hot. I never really loved summer but not I don't like it that much at all. I have always liked winter, it's one of my favorite seasons. I can't wait for it to snow again. That is if we even get any snow. I will be happy when fall and winter come.

I like snow too, but only while it's falling! Once it hits the ground and wrecks havoc and becomes dirty and ices up it needs to go!

Hi Opal , It is crazy how fast time can fly by . Where the heck did July go I keep thinking . I will miss summer , but fall can be nice . Nice trees, walks in the parks, hikes , hoodies out again . I dont mind the start of fall and then I get bummed with the winters . I just love being outdoors , so it takes getting used to the cold , cold weather . Before we know it holidays will be here . Again does time fly by

Fall is such a great time of year, but it makes me sad for some reason. I guess because I know what comes next!

I don't want to think of fall but the weather is forcing me to do so. The leaves are already beginniing to change in our area. They are not full color yet but you can see the change. The nights have that cool nip to them as well.

Hi Opal, I have bought all the back to school stuff so I didn't have the worry of it nearer the end of the summer holidays but here in the UK I am still waiting for summer to arrive so I haven't even given Autumn a thought yet, hopefully we will get some sunshine soon. Ellie :D

Oh, Opal. I've been thinking Fall since Spring ended and the influx of heat and humidity began! If it were Spring year-round, it wouldn't bother me one bit!!! But, even if you weren't thinking "Fall", retailers would force it upon you as they already have Halloween candy and decorations out!!! In another month, Christmas stuff will appear. It's like Thanksgiving no longer exists - but then, it isn't as commercially rewarding, either.

Hi Opal, I am ready for fall!!! I don't like this summer weather at all. We've been having high 80 and 90 degree days here in Illinois. I don't like to sweat, I don't like to be hot, I don't like summer! get my point? lol Plus we have to run the air conditioning in the house all the time because I can't handle the heat and humidity. It just makes me sick and feel terrible. The power bills are outrageous! I'm ready to turn off the air and open up the windows. I love sleeping with the fans going and the windows open. Hey char, I happen to love the fall! I was a fall baby. The only thing is that it means winter is coming and I hate winter except that I love snow but, only to watch it hit the ground, then I want it to disappear!

Hi Opal26, Oh! lord no I am not even thinking that far as I am just getting used to our summer as the weather is not too good, we are have rain here which is not too good after a few days of hot sunshine I know we need rain for our gardens but it seems too much rain is not good, I wast the sunshine back befor the Autum comes and all that rushing to save for Christmas, I am not looking forward to that at all. This year went by so quickly. I feel like Christmas was just here last month! I love the holidays but I havent begun planning for anything yet. I guess I had better get in gear, considering all of the things that are at the end of the year.

No I haven't really thought about it yet. The seasons are pretty much the same for me, because I do not go anywhere, I am mostly in the house all the time. I am disabled and getting out and getting around is very hard for me.

Fall doesn't make a big impression here, where I live we have like 7 or 8 months of summer and then 4-5 months of something that's sort of like a mix between winter and spring lol. It's very very windy in most of March and April but it isn't cold, and in Dec/Jan/Feb it's kind of cold but cold for this area, most people would not consider it cold. Summer is actually not technically over until the 21st or so of September. I am glad to be still a 'summer baby' as my birthday is right around labor day. My kids always go back early, either beginning of Aug or middle of Aug, but they get out at the end of May, which is nice. What confounds me is that it is still triple digits here and now I cannot find any capris!! Most of the sandals are gone too and swim suits? Beach stuff? yeah right. They are now bringing out the halloween candy displays lol!
