Ending The Monuments to Me Program  

I would have to do a lot more research on this bill in order to say if it is good or bad. On the surface it makes perfect sense. It also seems like a lot of the things in the list are programs or locations for the betterment of the general public. I think society can deal with someones name being associated with that grant or this building. To be honest it really seems like another one of those republican tricks to keep our minds off the real issues. With all the problems we face as a nation right now is this the most important thing that congress could be doing with their time. Probably not then again I do hate to see money getting wasted.

The lobbyist and special interest groups are not dumb. They want a building or center but do not have the money for it. Well just go to your elected officals. Tell them you will put their name on it if they use tax dollars to pay for it. So the idoits did it. Personally I think all these building should be "renamed (End Senators name) ripped off the tax payers to pay for this building". That would be a more accurate discription.

We need to outlaw lobbyist and special interest groups. And we need to make it a felony for our elected officials to waste on money on stupid stuff. Enforce the hell out of it. Let a few of them barred from elected office and doing some hard time and they might get the idea that they need to treat our money (not theirs) with more respect.

If these bigwigs want a monument to themselves, they should post on myLot. Then they make a little money, it costs the taxpayers nothing, and their words will be immortalized in the digital record practically forever.

This is outrageous and contemptable!What is wrong with us?How can we let this happen?I hope that Mr. McCaul's amendment would stop ALL federal spending until a complete accounting of this criminal activity is completed!
