Listening is understanding..

It may not be that they don't understand your point of view. It may just simply be that they disagree with that point of view and choose not to argue with you about it. They may simply be thinking, someday you'll know better. You should be happy that they take the time to at least listen to you, many parents don't even bother to do that. I've raised five kids, and I always tried to listen

this is the simple consequence of generation gap. since your parents have brought you up, catered to all your needs, looked after you, i think it is better if you subdue yourself a bit. they are your parents. they will never think bad of you. but yes, staying out late, going to parties, these they may disagree. respect their opinion. try to be a moderate man. just make up buddy. once you think how much they have done for you, you will feel like sitting at their feet and worshipping them the whole day. all the very best and bye

uhmmmmm.... this way, we talk, they listen. maybe they sometimes do not understand or they do not want to understand. but, when they are alone? they are thinking of what you really wanted. and what you have just said. they will take time to understand everything you've said. because they have to analyze, will this make any good for you, for them, or everyone in your family. Try to read your parents.:) They may never tell you, " Ok, I believe you. I am sorry, you're right!" Try to read them. You can see it in their actions, if you got them believe you and if u made them understand you...:)

Listening is not really understanding but the problem always is getting people to listen.
To listen you have to be interested.
People who are not interested just don't listen.
I have exactly the same problem right here in my office.
They are all only interested in themselves and what is convenient for them.
Thats the story of today's world.
