Do you have a favourite author | | There are several authors I look for when I go to the library. One of my favourites is Harlen Coban. He is easy to read and keeps the story moving so you don't ever get bored or want to skip a couple of pages. He writes in an easy conversational tone that I really enjoy. His plotting is excellent and I have never been able to guess the ending of any of his books, not like some authors I have read. If you haven't read any of his books try one,I'm sure you will like it.

Ed McBain wrote detective and crime stories, and I enjoy his stories about the 87 Precinct. Very entertaining and easy to read!

I read a few Agatha Christie but must confess, could not really get into them. I read a few of Minetter Walters and at first I liked them but have gone off them a bit lately. I think the best ones were Acid Row and The Scolds Bridle.

I love Sidney Sheldon, John Grisham, Fern Michaels, Robert Ludlum, Danielle Steele, Nora Roberts, also i love some books of Stephen King and Tom Harris and Tom Clancy.Oh, sorry i think they are not a few after all. But i love reading their works. This was i have a variety of books to choose from. But it is Sidney Sheldon who is top on my list but too bad now that he is gone. Then i would have John Grisham on top now as my favorite.

bhappy2 (271) | 1 year ago | John Grisham is great isn't he? I also enjoy some of Stephen Kings books. Kujo and The Stand were among my favourites. There was another one he wrote that was a monologue and not chapter but I can't remember the name of it at the moment. It was a terribly good book. I think what makes a book for me is good characterisation. If the characters jump off the page and I can see them I love it and King can do this really well.

| | 3. marquisdesade (209) | 1 year ago | It has to be Fyodor Dostoevsky. I've read his "Crime and Punishment" over and over again. I guess it's his fluent style of narrating and the ability to delve deepest into one's psychological mindset that made me love his books. You feel like you're the one whose thought-processes are given by the author and it was scary to be the protagonist in the said novel. Another author whom I admire so so much is JD Salinger. I've only read only one book of him so far and everybody knows what that book is. (Still, it's named "Catcher in the Rye")Someday, I'm hoping to get my hands onto some more of his works.

bhappy2 (271) | 1 year ago | Wow I am impressed. Isn't Crime and Punishment huge and pretty hard to read? I will have to try to check it out because this is the type of book I like but I have never been game to embark on reading C & P.

She has strong characters, male and female, and you just feel good while reading one of her stories. I also like Michael Connolly and Jeffery Deaver when it comes to mystery and suspense.

bhappy2 (271) | 1 year ago | I have read a few of Jeffrey Deavers and Michael Connolly''s books and enjoyed them very much but I haven't read Jayne Ann Krentz. I will have to see if I can find one of her books at the library and check her out.

But now I am enjoying Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight books and the Host. She is great at description. Both are excellent.

bhappy2 (271) | 1 year ago | I have never read either of these authors but will definitely give them a try. I get all my books at the library and sometimes it is hard to get something that draws you in and I am always looking for new authors to read.
