Have you seen any parrots in the wild?  | |  I loved going to Australia, a country that has such a rich bird life. I saw many white cockatoos, lots of pink and gray galahs and many colorful parakeets like my favorite the Port Lincoln parakeet.
I went to Guatemala and saw a postcard showing the white fronted Amazon parrot. I am lucky enough to own one of these. He is green with a white patch of his head, red around his eyes and he was colorful wings. His name is Bingo and my family has had him for the last 21 years.
One day I would love to go to South America and see the scarlet and the blue and gold macaws.

I always liked parrots but we never had one for some reason. MY aunt however had one, and he used to bite LOL

I usually see them in cages. I really am not sure though what kind of parrots they are but they are really beautiful.

Bingo sounds wonderful - it is nice that your family are one of the good ones who have kept the parrot for so long unlike some owners who get bored. Heres to masny more years with Bingo!

| | | 5. Piscesmoon (2885) | 1 year ago |  You seem to have such a fondness for Australia, maximax. We do have many gorgeous species of birdlife. Many visit my yard. The strange thing is, you can have a rarity of birdlife, set up a bird feeder containing parrot food and within 5 minutes, a huge variety of parrots know about it and tell all their friends. My favourite visitors are the sulphur-crested cockatoos, very large, noisy, sociable bids. We also get heaps of galahs, king parrots, grass parrots and rosella as well as regular kookaburra, jabiru and other storks, butcher birds and the occasional wild budgie and tawny frog-mouthed owl. The sugar cane paddocks behind my house also have heaps of guinea fowl, moor hens, ducks and the rare brush turkey. There is also a wild variety of rooster that combs the tourist rest stops along the side of the road and waits for scraps from tourists. Sometimes there are more than 20 of them in the car park. They look very similar to a normal rooster but are wild. I used to think it was really dorky to bird watch but, they are fascinating.
