Hi All, I just want to share my funny experience with you. My son who is 23 months old, started to learn how to pronounce this word two days ago. He got it right the first time I taught him but afterwards, he started to pronounce it non-stop with different sound *smiles* He will say 'mos-qwi-to', 'mos-shi-to', and sort of. At one time, when he was busy pronouncing the word, he saw a cat and ended up with 'mos-cat'. He was so happy whenever he managed to say the word that he non-stop asking me and my husband to listen to the word. I really tired to listen to his version of 'Mosquito' but it was very funny to me and my husband that we laughed at him every time he mentioned it. Now, whenever he sees any flying insects, he will say the word again!

That is so very sweet...It is so much fun when they learn to talk... My 6 year old grandson had a picture of a bug and he wanted to know if it was a ba-ski-doh....I said no, it isn't a ba-ski-doh and it isn't a mosquito either....I think it was a walking stick type bug..... We just laughed...

Hello Feona1962, He always feel jealous whenever he sees me talking to his Daddy. He will interrupt and say something in his own baby language with the hands showing every where *laughs* as if we understand what kind of story he is telling us! Or whenever we ignore him, he will come to me or my husband and say this, "What is this, Ami (short form for Mommy for him)?" or he will just standing right between the two of us and asking me to kiss his cheek so that it will stop us from talking!

Hello vanities, Some of my friends who have grown up children always tell me how they missed having babies at home *smiles* I only have one but the amount of joy that he brings in my life is more than anything else! He is talkative though he doesn't really know what he's doing.... Yesterday, while we're out at night, he called his Daddy, "Diddy! Diddy! Pillow!" and closed his face with his pillow as he was afraid of the bright tunnel when we drove through it. He threw the pillow after we passed through the tunnel, looked back, smiled and winked at his Daddy!

It is really great seeing your child learning the language already. My son also was like that he usually mimics us talking. Before he would start talking gibberish and many other things. Now he is already 6 years old and he talks a lot as in what ever he does there's always talking involve. I really do not know now since he almost always loves to talk about anything under the sun. A very inquisitive boy I guess.

Hello rsa101, My son is still talking a lot in his baby language. Sometimes he pronounces it in English, sometimes in my mother tongue language and sometimes, I just don't know what it is all about *laughs* It is so much fun to see him learning the language. He is also an active boy and whenever he sees me talking to my husband, he will interrupt us and start talking non-stop as if we can understand his language.

Sam thing to me, but right now we are slowly teaching him manners to wait for his turn to be acknowledge to speak. At his age I think he has to learn this things already and learn ethics along the way. Although I find it still cute at times but at his age I think I should start grooming him to have proper etiquette already that is appropriate at his age.

Hello secretbear, My son is very talkative now. Whenever he listens to my conversation, he will ask me later, "Mommy, what did you say?" as if he understands whatever I am saying. He loves one of his toys - a fire engine but he mistakes it as a rubbish collector truck. He forgot that he broke the toy and so I threw it. He always ask me, "Mommy, where is my truck?" I told him that it was damaged and I already threw it. This morning, when he woke up he asked me the same question again. I didn't reply but instead asked him the same question and he replied, "At the factory!"

Hello iyah10, I am glad to have him in my life. He is a very active boy and always make me anger most of the time but I adore him so much. He started to learn new words in his life and always like to 'show off' in front of my husband and I. Kids are very cute, aren't they?

Hello aseretdd, Kids are very cute *smiles* Sometimes I do feel angry at my son as he will non-stop 'destroying' my home but whenever something like this happens, I feel so much happy and glad to have him. He is in the stage of talking his own baby language plus English, his Daddy and Mommy's languages and I think he get mixed up sometimes *laughs* This morning he kept telling me about a garbage collector in my language. Whenever he sees small lorry passed by us, he would say "Ami! Lorry! Smelly!"
