There is a saying "If you don't ask the answer is always NO". I think that very well puts what you want to say. I am glad to have a husband who is an eternal optimist and has the effect on people around him. He has always tried to make me believe in myself and my abilities. I am not a very confident person always but he seems to have more confidence in me than I have. He has always tried to bring in me the attitude to try anything at least once before making a decision on it. This holds good even for attempting to do anything new. He says if I try and fail then I fail but if I don't try at all then I am a failure for sure. So its always better to try and fail rather than not trying. I guess his words have done the trick on me as now I am posting on mylot with all my heart. I was very hesitant to start with because I feared people would not accept my views and I will have to face a lot of uncomfortable discussions but now I see that I am good at what I say and its no big deal even if no one agrees with me. To end I would like to quote the great Thomas Alva Edison, "The biggest failures are those who did not realize how close they were to success when they quit."

I am one of those people who'd like to try almost anything new just for experience be it business opportunities or food or places...whatever. I love trying out new things because from it I learn a lot. I love to take risks but I made sure that I take calculated risks. I don't want to grow old wondering how it would have been if I tried it before.

One calculated risk that I took was when I left my job and took on freelance jobs. It was risky in the sense that I'd have to start all over again but I have already planned for any eventuality. The odds for success is quite big.

I read this and it really impressed me,"Obstacles don't have to stop you.If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up.Figure out how to climb it, go through it or work around it".When we face failures we should not let it stop us we need to get around and succeed.we need to give ourselves time and not get bogged down by failures."While the difficult takes time, the impossible just takes a little longer."When you look around at all the successful people you will find that they have all faced failures but they withstood it and came out successfully.Failures teach you a lesson and we learn from our mistakes and later rectify it.Just tell yourself,"Tough time never lasts, but tough people do".I hope you overcome the fear of failure and come out successfully. All the very best to you.
