Oh my goodness. Yang Peiyi is so pure and innocent! She is not ugly at all. I think those people were blind by taking that replacement action. This is the girl who deserves the giant stage performance, just take a look at her face and appearance, she is really pure! She deserves the stage performance!

I really hope that their action towards her will not impact on her self esteem. I just feel sorry towards her, she is not ugly and she even has better appearance of a pure child (with her voice and singing). Those people didn't realize that such action was really an insult and could discourage the child. How if she wouldn't be able to bear the insult and grief over many years of her life? I really hope she would be strong enough and have a bright future no matter what those people had done to her.

You're right there, but from this issue enlightened up by media made her more bold and famous. Who knows her 'teeth' really give her good luck, actually. Anyway I admit that she is a great beautiful girl.

hi EddieAzman, what I also fear is that, that another girl (Lin Miaoke) has gotten hurt just the same (Yang Peiyi got hurt in the beginning, Lin Miaoke later when everybody has known that she is fake).
seeing how the international and the national communities' reactions towards Yang Peiyi, Lin Miake must have been affected just the same by the wrong substitution decision.

now everyone praises Yang Peiyi and puts attention towards her, and since we know that Lin Miaoke is a fake child singer, I really feel sorry somehow towards her, I don't know how the society would behave towards her.

those people really had done a big mistake, they hurted both of these little girls at the end. I hope the society wouldn't treat Lin coldly at the end.

yeah, the original singer must have felt hurted by their action. I just can't imagine how it will impact the future if the child cannot let go the insult for many years and even until the future. they just didn't consider that the action would really impact a pure child's heart.

True. In all their recent attempts to upgrade their image I think China has done just the opposite. Between the tricks they have played with Olympic Opening ceremonies, contaminated medicine and pet food, lead based paint on toys, etc. all being presented as "quality" goods, I now have a rather distrustful view of China. I trust their words and actions about as much as our local used car salesmen. I know that's not fair to China, but they are creating the image by their own actions. If they pay more attention to quality and less to perceived image the world will begin to trust again. The public may be gullible but we are not stupid.

I should say that those people had made bad decision by having that substitution. now I also feel worried about another girl (that one who faked the singing), because when everyone knows who is the real singer, then the fake one must have felt humiliated somehow.

well, what I can say about such things, I don't intend to say any negative thing about the nation. however, they should have known that we - all people - still value the honesty and everyone has also shown it by reactions.
if only they presented the way the things were for the ceremony, not trying to make any spectacular (but fake) things as performance, people's appreciations towards them would be different.
I hope those people will really learn from experience.

Yes, I too hope the chosen one will suffer no ill effects from the experience. It wasn't her fault that she was the chosen face to portray the desired image.

I don't mean any disrespect toward the nation or the people of China. It is the government that I think needs to lighten up and quit trying too hard to be seen in a new image. Maybe they just don't understand that the general public is more than willing to embrace a nation if they don't feel cheated or lied to.
