What is your opinion on marrying someone about 20 years older than you?

Gents or ladies, is there any special reason aside from love for marrying someone who is almost your daughter or son?

There was a 14 year age difference between my parents and my mother left my father for a man closer to her own age. I think it's because of this that I'm not keen onlarge age differences. As well as having different interests you have to consider the milestones in later life. Whilst one partner could be retiring and enjoying lots of spare time the other can still be facing years of work ahead of them. This could cause a lot of resentment in a marriage.

You are right. I think age difference is, afterall, a contributory factor to the success or failure of a relationship because of the reasons you've mentioned.

I don't think that two people with such a large gap in age could have much in common but that's not to say that there aren't those who do. I think the primary reason older men are attracted to younger women (those that are) is because they make them feel young again...or they want a trophy wife to show the world how great they are.
