I am a native English speaker. I learned French for five years at school and so know that language. I didn't get on learning Dutch because the local people always spoke to me in English but I tried. At the moment I am learning Spanish for travel in Central and South America. I can say a few things in German that are useful for traveling but I don't know much of that language.

I was born and raised in the US and the only language I know is English. The way it is here I should know Spanish but I get along fine without it and at my age I'm not going to learn it now.

Gosh~! That's a lot of languages that you know! Did I just counted 7 languages?
Hehe, I can't believe my eyes! I am so envious of your language skills.
I guess I would just have to surrender
and say WOW!
Well, I know thousands of languages! I have heard of Dutch, Malay, Tamil, Bahasa Melayu, Singlish, Bahasa Indonesian, Tagalot..
Oops..
You mean to say languages that I know how to speak in?
LOL!
Well..
I am only fluent in 2 languages and 1 dialect (a Chinese variation of Chinese)! In Singapore, we just learn 2 languages in school and we consider ourselves Bilingual.
Majority of the students here learn English (our first language) and our own Mother Tongue (depending on your race). I'm Chinese, so I learnt Chinese!
Geex, I just LuRve that subject... NOT!
Wahaha, Chinese got to be the most difficult subject that I had ever passed in my entire 18 years of studying. I am just so glad I no longer have to look at that subject anymore!
I had also learnt before French and Japanese in college, however I won't count them as a language that I am fluent in. That was 3 years ago, and I cannot remember a single word in French or Japanese to even save my life! I really have no idea how I managed to pass these two subjects. Lol.
So, that's it for languages that I know and am fluent in! Hope that I just did not bore you to sleep. Hehe.. till next time! And don't miss me!!
