What do you think of "all you can eat seats"?

There are some ballparks that now have "all you can eat seats". I think this is a terrible idea. The all you can eat menu consists of hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, popcorn and pop. I think this is the last thing people need. It would be ok if it was all you can eat salad, but all you can eat garbage is not a good idea. What do you think of all you can eat seats?

That is very worrying my friend, with all the news of obesity which seems to be exploding (no pun) the problems of fat children is escalating and here they are promoting junk food and eat as much as you can? Profit obviously comes before health as usual, everything is money driven whilst health issues come a poor second. Is it any wonder why people are getting fatter and taking a strain on the health departments across the world? All that grease, additives, and other unmentionables that go into making junk food, coronaries, obesity, ticking time bombs, very scary indeed, all for a fast buck! Very bad idea but who is going to question it? When the money comes rolling in!

I wouldn't pay for an all you can eat salad bar. I like the idea of "all you can eat seats". If you will be buying it anyway, it could really save you money.

Those seats cost about 30 bucks extra.

I don't think I would be too fond of that idea either. Here people are pushing for healthy eating in every other aspect of life, and then others go and push the junk food issues by offering it "free". Not a very healthy idea if you ask me.

Those seats are not for me. I would eat way to much food.I think a few snacks at a game is okay but not unlimited.

I agree, I'm trying my best to eat in moderation, and all you can eat hot dogs is not what we need.

I, too, think that's a terrible idea. Of course if you consider the cost of that type of food at a ballpark you will get your money worth by just eating one of those items, lol. Still not something that I feel is a suitable promotion. I guess anything goes if a ballpark needs to be filled.

I should have mentioned, that the seats are more expensive, and with that you can get obesity and diabetes thrown in for free.

Wow, that is a first time that I have heard of all you can eat seats. I totally agree that there should not be an unlimited amount of junk food. They should maybe give a variety of junk food and a variety of healthy food as well.

I think all you can eat seats, or buffets are the ruining of our waistlines. We all want to make sure to get our money's worth, so we eat, and eat, and eat, and make ourselves sick.

I've never heard of this but is par for the course - and the ones who will take most advantage of these seats are the ones who need a good salad the most.

You're so lucky that you have a garden like that. There's nothing like fresh veggies, like really fresh. Yummy

Didn't seem like I added much so will add a bit more - I made a horrid pig of myself tonight. 2 brats, 2 ears of sweet corn, 5 cherry tomatoes, and half a cucumber - all but the brats I picked in our garden today :) It was all so good I just couldn't stop.

You are so right, nothing like fresh veggies. I actually spent half the day yesterday canning - 10 quarts of salsa were yesterday. Today I'm going to freeze cabbage. We do have a huge garden this year and although a ton of work the produce is well worth it.

As long as you don't have to eat the seats, it would be a fun and cheap day out with the scout troop! LOL

This is certainly going to contribute to the obesity problem that is certainly big in the US (as it is here in England) and if it happened here you would have many health experts complaining that more people should stay away from watching the games live and be spending their money on more healthy alternatives (possibly bars of lard ha). Then you would get the people complaining who just want to get on their high horses, then the people who would then blame the temptation on becoming obese when clearly their self control has an influence too, then you have the problems of people eating too much and being sick and the extra supply needs for the clubs and its all a bit of a nightmare, at least having to pay for each item of food means you have to get it and so laziness in sorting it out means you wont bother.

I think it's a bad idea, because when you're paying more for these seats, you figure you'd better get your moneys worth, and really pig out.
